Yep Marttc, do what's best for you. Personally, I am finding BH very helpful. I've gone away for the weekend and still checking in... lol.

    Talking Donor time LONG STORY

im very excited right now as for the past ... well ... few months really i have been helping a close friend of mine to have her dream baby.

her and hubby had been trying for over a decade and including IVF for a few years she found out last year basically her eggs are a no go ... her IVF dr suggested to her mid last year that she should think about using a donor as her embies would need PGD to ensure they would work but her next cycle after that basically produced nothing

when she told me the new developments, we talk nearly everyday so i followed her ivf journey both the perks and pits, i felt like my heart dropped i was devastated i have known her for many many years and to hear that her dream was looking less likely i felt i had to do something whether it be a MASSIVE drinking night ( we get pretty messy bahaha) or a shopping trip etc but im me heart i know that these wouldn't help if i was her.
i turned to my partner and proposed a question to him .."what if i donate my eggs?"

a lil about me form the age of about 17 i have known something about my body wasn't 'right' my AF was NEVER regular and i started at 11. i always dreamed of having kids and secretly hoped to have at least 1 by 25 ( dunno why that age but i seemed to be special for me ) i went through life not knowing when AF would appear her ugly head but as i NEVER had any pain from ovulation it made the guessing game a lil more annoying. when i turned 21 i meet my partner we instantly clicked and i cant think of life with out him well the usually 'honey moon" period followed our relationship starting and to my complete SURPRISE AF was regular EVERYMONTH for the 10 months which i was some what happy about because after 2 months dating we decided to BD hehe things went fine until we realised the AF didn't come and HADNT visited for a few month so we freaked thinking i was pregnant at this stage we happy just going along . i took a HPT but that came up hmm i was confused so i saw the doc who order a mass of blood tests which turn up a few things after some investigation it was discovered i had PCOS not only did i have a total of 30 cysts on my ovaries but i have testerone levels through the roof (about 3-4 times what the 'normal' female range was) so i went on meds which cause a few probs hormones and mood wise so we as a team decided to stop them and my partner and i made the choice that if we had a baby it was meant to be ... WELL... a year laster at grand final i was in the kitchen and my boobs where on FIRE (not literally) lol over a week they had become hot and sensitive well my friend said i might be preg but i thought hmm it could just be my hormones changing so off to the docs again ... while we waited fro yet ANOTHER blood test result to come back i did a HPT and nearly fell off the loo it was it completely through my day off i was stunned as a specialist in PCOS had said it was nearly IMPOSSIBLE to have kids naturally for me because of there was not just the cysts but the hormones. well after the pregnancy from HELL i mean HELL i had a c section at 34 wks and my DD was born however i was still very sick i was diagnosed with stage 3b cancer and was in a whirl with tests scans and meetings to start me cancer before it could go any further. after 6 months of intense chemo i was free no more PICC line or chemo yey me i had to have one last scan to get a defiantly all clear and my docs had been say no kids for 2 years after chemo so after more meetings i was put on the Nuva ring but something messed up and i had been pregnant when i had a radioactive scan i went to the docs again and found out i was Preg i was devastated to think of what had happened and what was going on i was referred to the woman's as they could find out and help me make the choices i needed ... i would of been 9 weeks when they did the scan but bub was measuring for 6-7 and no heart beat so we prepared for a d & c after which they would insert a IUD however i had issues with it from the start pain itching etc but i was told this was normal bleh.

so about 6 months ago i spoke to my friend and offered my eggs to her as we hadn't planned to have anymore yet i was waiting to speck to my cancer specialist about if there would be an issue (they said all clear no issues but also that i had the green light to have MY OWN even the initial info was worse case) so we started by caller her FS after a week of her saying ...are you sure? im not forcing you' hehe it was cute but i was determined as i had seen the effect ivf had on her i was insisting unless SHE didn't want them i would do it . so i had a few blood tests before meeting her FS he did a scan and check my reserve lol i had a very high (75%) so he was excited after a small set back ( i broke my leg before Grand final last year) we have managed to get things going i was placed on and antag cycle as to avoid OHSS and she was given her pills to commence so for the past 2 weeks i have had 200IU puregon injection ( upped to 258.3IU after the 1st scan should not enough progressed) then for the past week i have been having Orgalutran injections in the morning and as of last night i had my trigger lucrin and Pregnyl after my scan on Tuesday showed 26 then 25 LARGE follicles the FS was very happy however he wont be here for my retrieval on Saturday but we are excited. my partner and i have also decided to try for our number 2 after the donation is done ( i spoke in depth with my friend who is receiving the eggs and she was more excited that me lol mainly at the thought of us being preg at the same time)while im still recovering from my leg im excited for everything happening.

sorry for the length hehehe haven't been on here since i decided to do the donation so figured a catch up would be good.

Angelis - just wanted to say how beautifully selfless you are!
Anyone would be lucky to have a friend like you
Does this work just like a normal ivf cycle / process? But obviously the embie is put back in your friend...
