Hi ladies may I please ask a few questions about Clomid or being off clomid to be precise .... does it affect your following cycles? How long does it take to get out of your system? I was taking it for 5 or 6 cycles and am now just waiting for my 2nd cycle since stopping Clomid and i'm on day 37 and still waiting for AF plus I have been having a month of hot flushes.... SUPER weird and worrying .....PLEASE HELP

Sorry I can't help you there as I have not had the experience of coming off clomid. I am on cycle 3 and it has actually given me regular 29 day cycles.
    Perhaps your Dr can guide.
You have done a HPT right?

Hi ladies, I've only just started taking clomid this cycle & was wanting to ask a few questions to anyone whose been through it before.

I just had my CD12 scan yesterday & she said there were eggs there but it doesn't look like any will be released. I was just wondering if anyones ovulated later? Or if it doesn't happen, how long did it take for it to work? My doct said next cycle the dose will be doubled if I don't ovulate this time around.

I was just wondering how long its taken for others for the medication to work? I have PCOS & was disapointed when she said it doesn't look like I'll ovulate.

Anyway, sorry for the 20 questions! I just had no idea

Thanks for the reply My doctor said she does the scan at CD12 to make sure there wouldn't be anymore than two eggs being released & making sure they look like they're going to be released. I have a blood test on CD 21 to see if ovulation has happened. Then another I think about one-two weeks later for the same thing & to test for hcg.

I guess its just frustrating not knowing if/when it'll happen. Thanks heaps for letting me know I think its so interesting that it works differently for everyone.

Hey tormy good luck for your TWW !
Interesting your ovulation day. I have just been discussing O symptoms etc on the pcos thread. Wondering if you get O symptoms such as ewcm or positive opk that match up with the o result on your blood test?

Hi Ladies, does anyone here also have a dp/dh with semen issues?
My reason for asking is my dh was diagnosed with abnormal sperm morphology & we have been doing ivf icsi, had a miscarriage & a negative, currently have our last embryo on board and am waiting for my blood test Thursday 28th to confirm BFP or not
Anyway, made arrangements with another fertility specialist moving forward, saw her today & she think dh results are not too bad! She's thinking I may have mild pcos & if I'm not pregnant, she wants me to start clomid and try it for a couple of months while I'm on the waiting list for laparoscopy (apparently can be up to 4 months wait but hopefully earlier) then she said we will know exactly what we are dealing with then.... If I have pcos she wants me to continue clomid as apparently the laparoscopy makes you even more fertile..... If we still struggle to conceive then it's back to ivf icsi....
Also does anyone know the cost & side effects of this?

    Sorry for the novel!

Why didnt they start clomid before IVF?? that makes no sense. i do cycle tracking through my fertility clinic so all blood tests and ultrasounds are covered through medicare. The only costs that i've incurred so far are any appts i have with my FS (2 so far) and 1 for a trigger shot that i had on tuesday. The side effects of clomid are nausea and a bit of dizziness is all i've experienced so far.
Thanks tormy replied my answer on my frustration of doing ivf before clomid!

So if his are slow, why do they say clomid will help you?

Hi Marttc - yes we too have the poor morphology & this makes for a very low 'normal' count of 6% straight swimmers. Combined with my 'advanced maternal age' (bwah - I'm only 40!). Thinking about DH going on Menevit for DH in the first instance to see if swimmers can be straightened-out (literally...he had so many wonky ones it wasn't funny). Oh and possibly Clomid for me, the elderly one in the couple.
