Bit nervous but could I join I feel awkward as I have a bubba whom I adore very very much (and get repeatedly told (in well meaning way) that I should just relax and enjoy him) but I'm desperate for another bubba.
My brief story Fell pregnant with Xander first try after a miscarriage and he was born April 2011. I adore being a mother and wanted to try for another and have two close in age, so once AF started again in June we started trying. Nothing and AF got further apart. Had last AF in October and on CD75 went to my Dr, she was fantastic sent me off for tests and scan.
Discovered I have PCOS and not ovulating so was put on Metformin 500mg a day and referal to specialist, was lucky to get in the next day and confirmed PCOS, doubled the metformin dose and put me on Provea to start AF and clomid 50mg.
It's all been a bit sudden and I'm still coming to terms with it. Have never experienced fertility problems or known anyone who has
AF finally arrived on day 92 on Saturday so I'm on my third night of clomid. No side effects so far not sure if that's a good thing or not. I just need people to talk to, feel a bit lonely caught up in this with no one to talk to. Hubby isn't much help poor boy though he is being good putting up with my moods.
Thats pretty much similar to how my story went, except we already had 5 kids and all I used to have to do was think about or discuss getting pregnant and it would happen! Then I got diagnosed same as you, but never put on Metformin. I did 4 rounds and the fourth round of Clomid and our 19th month of ttc was successful and she was born in March 2011. I already feel the same way too, I want a 7th child, hubby is not convinced at all!
The girls here are great and really supportive. There is not much that someone hasn't already been through so don't hesitate to ask.
This month I have gone off the meds as my thyroid has also righted itself so seeing if that was the problem.
I hope your clomid journey is a short one!!
Well I'm officially back in here... AF reared her ugly head at 9DPO, so 8 day luteal phase. The issue musn't be my thryoid after all
Back on clomid tomorrow 100mg. Sigh!!
Hi everyone, I have pcos as well. Just wondering what the metformin does? Heard all about the clomid but do you take metformin as well? Sorry just curious.
Thank you all for the welcome it helps so much to have others to talk to.
Bummer MyBabyBells I hope the clomid at least does it's trick.
tls242, I could be wrong so hopefully someone can correct me if I am, from my understanding the metformin is to help control your blood sugars/insulin part of PCOS is Insulin resistant, meaning your pancreas over produces insulin, which in turn effects the female hormone production levels and ovaries (increase in testerone etc). I believe the metformin helps your body take in the sugars better and helps with weight loss. Even if I wasn't taking Clomid I would be taking metformin to help balance everything back out.
I'm doing much better at the moment. When I was on the Provea I was a wreck all over the place and so so hormonal, since taking Clomid I feel a bit more chilled out and relaxed and happier - not sure that was supposed to happen lol, on day 4 of clomid today.
Well finally something good, I just got engaged!!!!
CONGRATULATIONS cinder!!!!! How exciting
