Hi mrsjaguar!! No you are not alone!! A LOT of women are resistant to clomid, especially if they have PCOS, my FS said the trend with PCOS is that clomid will either work too well, or not at all. We quit after 50 because she was not convinced that 100 would do anything either. I have only O'd once in 2007, on FSH injections. tried clomid late last year, nothing.. And now back on ovulation indiction injections and my estrogen has already risen well above what it did on the clomid, I may actually o this month! There are other options out there!! Maybe talk to your FS about the next step??

Hope your time comes very soon!!

Hi ladies, so I guess I will be starting my last round of clomid within the next few days, I was thinking of taking 100mg this month, what's everyones thoughts on upping my dose myself, would it be bad or would it give me more of a chance?

hey Cinder. Last month i doubled my dose to 100mg unmonitored. Ovulation pain was absolutely horrific but other than that no other symptoms. I did conceive but it was a chemical pregnancy.
I did do alot of research on taking more than you need to ovulate and it seems to have more cons than pros so i wont do it again.

AFM not sure if you remember but I was taking a month off the clomid now my thryoid is back to normal and see how things go. Well I ovulated on CD14, which hasnt happened since before having my daughter so I'm stoked!! Now just to wait and see if my luteal phase is fixed or still short. 2DPO today.

    to all!

    * I just re read what you had typed, forgive me! Im not wearing my glasses, so you havent ovulated at all? And youre on Metformin?
Hey there! Yep, I've been on Metformin for 2 years now. Currently 2000mg, daily. No luck! I haven't ovulated naturally since we started TTC in December 2010, and Clomid hasn't worked yet.
Nobody has suggested a tube-check yet - but we're seeing a new fertility specialist {the old one did nothing but prescribe the Clomid, mostly unmonitored} next week, so will be interesting to see what she says.

Thanks Mam! My old RE was reluctant to use Clomid at all, thinking I'd be overstimulating my ovaries - but it hasn't done anything! I think I'll definitely need to get some other drugs in me to make things happen. You're giving me hope that I can ovulate some other way. Thanks!

    Hey Mrsjaguar!

    No worries!
Sounds like you def need another fertility specialist!! One of the first things they usually do before u TTC is have your tubes checked! What's the point of all these meds with the horrible side effects if the egg won't even make it to the womb?? Haha!! But hopefully they are fine and it's just stubborn ovaries!! I take it your partner has had his sperm checked??

Yeah my FS is not a fan of clomid, we only tried it cause I didn't want to inject myself every day with FSH, but after the clomid side effects I had, the injections each day are a refreshing change!!!

Everyone is just so different. Some people ovulate on a tiny dose, some not on the largest dose!

    When is your FS appointment??

    Mam

Congratulations! I conceived my bub on my fourth round too, so it can happen, but as someone else said, everyone is so different and on it for different reasons. I was actually quite pleasant and even-tempered on Clomid, so it was a wonderful experience for me and the only side effect I recall having was the horrible hot flushes! After that experience, I am not looking forward to menopause!
