    Default Fertility experts HELP!!!!!

Just wanting some clarification as to what happened over the last few weeks!

So I have a regular 28day cycle (spot on every month), day 14 the cycle I *should* have ovulated, day 13 I have noted in my diary creamy CM, then on day 16 (late at night) we had unprotected sex.... (I want another bub, DH doesn't- its his job to take care of the protection.. and he got carried away!)...

Day 20 I had some brown tinged blood, just a tiny bit, I was paranoid my period was coming early... but it didn't... now I've just realised it could have been implantation bleeding?!?!?

BUT.... from the research I did, the egg can only survive 24hr, so unless I've ovulated as late as day 15 then its highly unlikely that the egg could still be in my system right?!?

Ah god... I hate this, DH is going to freak if I am pregnant.... (I will secretly be going but given we are actually going through counselling to get through our feelings over this its really NOT a good time!!!)

From my understanding.... Ovulation isn't an exact science.... It could have happened on day 15 or even 16 for you and you could have dtd in that window!

I don't mean to freak you out, but I had spotting a few days after dtd a day after ovulation, and I'm now 26 weeks.........!

I don't know if I should say good luck, or what...... Because I'm sure either answer would bring you happiness.............

Thanks AP.... I don't know what you should say either!!!!!

I just had it in my mind I guess that because I have a spot on 28day cycle, that ovulation should happen on day 14..

that's not true that even with a spot on 28 day cycle, that you 'should' ovulate on CD14. it all depends on how long your luteal phase (time between ovulation and period starting) is. coz you may actually ovulate on CD15 or 16 and have a 12 or 13 day luteal phase. so yes there is a chance you could be UTD. i guess you'll have to wait till the 29th day this month and see if your period comes to know for sure. coz unless your temp tracking and OPKing, you prob dont know exactly when you ovulated

Thanks Merri berri.... I didn't realise that...

I do follow my CM each month, and track it that way... and I def had more of the EWCM on day 13-14 and it had eased off by day 15....

I guess I will just have to wait and see!

it is my uneducated understanding that the eggy cm appears a few days before ovulation. i could be wrong. i know mine does though, because a few months last year i felt my ovulation (it hurt!) and i'd had eggy cm a few days before. i guess it's the body's way of making sure that any sperm that get in in those few days are held there?

Hi Sal What CD are you on now?? i got a at 3 weeks

The only way to be exactly sure of when you ovulate every month is to temp like merri said, your temp rises after you ovulate due to rise in pregesterone levels and if UTD it will stay higher

yes leeee, you're right. you have the EWCM just b4 you ovulate, coz that keeps the swimmers up in through the uterus and waiting in the fallopian tubes, waiting for you to ovulate. the say you slightly dry up directly prior to ovulation, as you dont want all that CM there whilst the sperm are barging their way thru trying to get to the egg in time. google it, but reason why they say to DTD whilst you have EWCM is so you dont miss the window of opportunity as ultimately you want swimmers up there chilling on their barker lounge. youtube 'the great sperm race' it is an awesome docco

Hmmm... well in that case, who knows...

I did speak to DH today about it (I've been so stressing about what he would say if I was pregnant) and he was surprisingly calm and supportive!!!!! He knew he took a risk when we DTD unprotected right around that time.... I always tell him where I am at in my cycle, and its up to him to organise protection since he is the one who doesn't want a baby!!!! So I guess we will just have to wait and see....

Hoping28 I am CD25 today.... I did buy some First Response tests today.... but I don't want to jinx myself... so will try to wait till the weekend....

I am getting my hopes up now, which is the wrong thing to do, as I know I will be bitterly disappointed when AF arrives.... its just been a really ****ty 12mnths for us, and we are finally seeing the light through a lot of intensive relationship counselling.... and to have another baby would be a dream come true for me.

Looking back through my notes I had ECWM on day 12-13, then it turned creamy, then day 15-16 I had some discomfort similar to thrush- which is a typical month for me....

I have thought of another reason for the brown blood last night, so not pinning my hopes to anything much- the time we DTD unprotected was also a diff position which was a bit deeper (sorry TMI) which may have caused some irritation..... so I am fully expecting AF to arrive Sat.
