Default 6weeks 5 days no heart beat on ultra sound

    Hi,

I had a scan today due to mild cramps and the odd sharp pain and on/off discharge of brown/red over a period of a week/two weeks.

The scan came up I was 6weeks and 5 days but no heart beat could be seen.

My last pregnancy I saw a heart beat this early on.

Wondering if other mums have had scans and not managed to see a heart beat? I appreciate every pregnancy is different and I'm trying to hold onto some hope that a heart beat may appear in a weeks time.

I'm getting blood levels checked also.

    Thanks!!

I know its easier said then done Please don't get worried and stressed about anything wrong with bubs.. Hang in there, have your bloods and go back for a scan in 2weeks.
With DD3 I had a scan at 6weeks noheartbeat, 7weeks no HB my obgyn said it didn't look good but at 9weeks there was a strong beating heart

Yep i agree with the above. I have had the exact same thing happen as well. Dates can be off also. It's completely possible that nothing is wrong at all and even in a weeks time you will see a little heart beat.

I know you will still worry, we all do it. Just know that it's probably fine. Will you update us when you get your babys HB?

Are you sure of your dates?

Honey, I don't want to depress you, but this could turn out ok, or it could be bad news and turn out to be a blighted ovum. I had one of those and it is really quite heartbreaking.

My advice would be to hope for the best, and prepare for the worst. I think it is even harder when the loss is a surprise. Well for me anyway.

I hope you get good news.

There's no reason to think anything's wrong yet. Lots of the time scans don't pick up the heart beat till nearly 8 weeks. Someone posted something like this in another thread-
At 6 o'clock it's possible you'll see the moon, at 7 o'clock it's more likely that you'll see it and if you step into the night at 8 o'clock you're almost guaranteed to see the moon.
    Good luck!

Hope all turns out ok! It really is normal though to not find a hb at this early stage.

Thanks for your kind words, however it has been identified my pregnancy is not viable. No heart beat and no growth (in fact everything is shrinking). After going through every emotion, I'm just lucky to have a beautiful partner we can go through this together, finish this journey and move forward.
