nappy rash cream if using MCN's

I'm about to switch over to MCN's. I've hardly used any creams etc even while using disposables on my boys - but they recently had a bad bout of gastro and both got really bad nappy rash, so I had to use a fair bit of barrier cream to fix it/prevent it getting worse. If this happens again while I'm using cloth I understand I'm not supposed to use barrier creams as they affect the absorbancy of the nappy - so interested to know what do people do instead?

Not 100% sure but you might be able to use it then give the nappies a strip wash?

We use pawpaw ointment on my boy when he is teething and gets nappy rash even when using cloth.

I use a nappy liner if DS has nappy rash and needs Paw Paw cream....keeps the cream away from the MCN.

You can use 'magic stick' Which I don't find to be that great to be honest. That can go straight on the nappy, without effecting absorbency.

Use liners. Then you can keep using your normal cream. Head into spotlight, and get half a metre of 'victorian polar fleece' it's a bit thinner than normal polar fleece, or if it's not called that ask for micro polar fleece. It won't fray so you can just cut it up

Cut it into strips big enough to line the inside of nappy. You will get heaps from half a metre and they will last for EVER.

I cut mine up whilst heavily pregnant. Ds is 16 months old now and they are going strong. I think it cost around $3 and I use sudocream over night.
