I'm also wondering about complementary therapies to help TTC (and pregnancy) along. Have you noticed any improvement from acupuncture, Vivre? I'm booked to see an acupuncturist tomorrow - not thrilled by the prospect of being needled, but hoping it can help improve egg quality.

Hope you get some answers this week, Nat - lots of good wishes.

I am 36 next month and my hubby is 40 in Oct and we r now finally ready to start TTC. I had my IUD removed 1st August and LH surge was 8th August....we have had lots of dtd time so I have my fingers crossed but I i realise that it isn't likey to happen straight away. we are off to the states for a holiday for four weeks and I am hopeful it might happen then.

Aww Gentoo, that really sucks. Just makes you angry at the whole world doesn't it?

We're still plodding along in the TTC game, but I'm with you Petulia, I'm just trying to focus on other things right now so as not to drive myself insane. The more I focus on TTC, the more unhappy I seem to be. I'm sure it will happen for us eventually so I'm just letting things take their own course.

Welcome Debstar! Good luck and crossing fingers that you're lucky with an immediate BFP!

Well I got my blood test results today and my liver function is normal so I'm relieved at that. I'll definitely keep on looking after my health though so that my poor old liver survives many years yet!! The urine test showed high levels of blood in urine again so I'm back to the doc on Friday to see if there is anything else that can be causing it and whether we need to explore some more.

I'm pleased to find that we should have a chance to DTD in our fertile time this month after all. I thought I'd be away for work at the crucial time but it looks like I leave to go away on my usual O day, meaning we at least have the days prior. Yay!!! I feel so much better about not skipping a month.

Good luck to everyone and pleased to hear that the relaxed attitude is going around. I'm feeling similar right now. A lot of focus on other things and trying to let things take their course.

Well after the bad uti last cycle I still had discomfort & now got scarring & not allowed to dtd for 4 wks. So after explaining self insemination to the dr he gave the approval, so thats the go this month.

    Hi Gentoo
I went to the acupuncturist in a bit of a mess. Stressed, not sleeping, heavy painful periods, short luteal phase, not conceiving etc
And although a small sceptic I think it has made a difference.
The pain in my periods have been decreasing & after my lap my last cycle had no pain. My acupuncturist said it could have been the lap surgery that helped that. Needles don't hurt (only even now & then on insertion) & best thing about it is complete rest for 45 mins. I've been on Chinese herbs which have been interesting (sometimes horrible - other times ok to drink)
I'm trying to put my mind in right place so I stopped caffeine & drinking about 2 months ago so could be any of the above
My hubby said if all else fails at least I'm going to be really healthy

Welcome Debstar & good luck to you
Ro my hubby has been desperately ill with a cold but we've kicked off so fingers crossed for best. Felt a bit mean but he's being a champ

Great to hear some good news from you Nat on the liver front

Vivre, just on your note about period pain being less after lap. Mine was pain free (not that I get it badly, but usually on first couple of days it's uncomfortable) and was a different AF. TMI here but....it seemed like 'fresher' blood, lighter in colour and had a clear start and end to AF. So I feel as though everything has definitely had a clean out and it's good. Hopefully that's a good sign.

The acupuncturists sound great. I'm usually pretty conservative when it comes to things like that but there seems to be so much information about the positives. I'd give it a go if it were an option in my area. Unfortunately....not possible. But I like the idea and good to read that others are having success.

    Hi Everyone,

My friend went to an acupuncturist who specialised in fertility issues (there are several in Sydney) and she was successful after years of ttc. I have had acupuncture before for other reasons) and although I am scared of needles the sensation is different, not at all painful, quite energising and I found it can be addictive so good luck with it! My hubby keeps trying to tell me he has 'super strong sperm' - don't they all think that? He seems to be unware of the many other factors at play (although he came with me to the Gyno and got an education)..Fingers crossed for us all. It has taken us so long to be emotionally and mentally ready for this journey that I am hoping we haven't left it too late. It is great to have this forum as an outlet for this stuff. Secretly we are hoping to be pregnant by christmas but I think we might be setting ourselves up for a fall. I am sending good wishes for all of us!!!

I forgot to add to my previous post that i am only 7 DPO today and decided to do an early pregnancy test...needless to say it was negative although I have been feeling weird. Light headed, tired, nauseous, a bit lack lustre..I have also had some tendernous in my ovary/cervix region which is unusual but I must have conjured it up in my mind as I know it can't be this easy - I only had my IUD removed 14 days ago....

Agree on the period post Lap surgery, sounds identical to the way mine worked. Lets hope it stays like this

Debstar agree, it taken us a long time emotionally to be ready to contemplate being parents so just hoping the next bit would hurry up and be succesful
