Thanks all, I'm sure I'll be fine. Just more waiting. I won't have test results until Monday so it's lucky I'm well practised at being patient lately....not!

Well MrsErinR, that is about the worst news ever. Losing a loved one is always awful and I hope you and DH are okay. Nothing I can say except that my thoughts are with you Remember to look after yourself as you look after DH.

Sorry MrsErinR for your family's loss, that is horrible news.
Ive been to 3 funerals in the last month including my grandmother so know the feeling of loss.

That''s really bad luck Nat, hope the tests turn out ok. I agree it is interesting the underlying medical problems that you never would have discovered. Just hope it all leads to some great outcomes.

Thanks for the info on the luteal phase Ro. I just learnt about the pessaries during our IVR session, sounds like fun. I pretty much have mentioned everytime Ive seen anyone about the fact that my luteal phase was around 8 - 9.
My acupuncturist has been the best and ever since Ive been going to see her its now starting to learn towards the 10 maybe at best a random 11 days. FS Dr did a 21 blood test and said it was fine so we'll wait and see..
My last cycle was 22 days in total which freaked me out a bit but I figure its because I had surgeons in there playing around.

Good luck with with the seduction Ro, we are getting closer to that time of the month ourselves

AF for me Completely frustrated with the whole deal this morning. A few tears and a thinking I'll throw the towel in and quit the ups and downs.

    However.....

I know this will pass. I'll be back. Just need a day of sulking first

So sorry Nat and sulking is allowed.
Remember you''ve only just had the op so the first cycle post is probably the next one

Like Meg, I'm sad to say that I'm back - missed miscarriage. I had a D&C on Wednesday and am now waiting for my HCG to fall back to zero so my cycles start again (which, in a bitter twist of irony, I'm using HPTs to track).

You are perfectly entitled to be angry and frustrated, NAT - I'm there with you at the moment. This whole TTC business is enough to screw with anyone's head. A week ago I didn't want another bar of it - couldn't stand the thought - but now find myself waiting for ovulation to return because I also can't stand the thought of not TTC. I guess we're all gluttons for punishment.

It gets me to thinking - if I designed a system that had a cycle failure rate as high as that of the human reproductive system, I'd get the sack (and probably get sued)!

Gentoo, I'm sorry to hear you had a MMC - how heartbreaking. For us in here it's easy to forget that just conceiving isn't the end of the story.

There's definitely room for some process improvement in this whole conception process! I'd vote for more in-system monitoring ability and a faster cycle time to minimise the time cost of failure. But that's the computer geek in me: measure everything, and if it didn't work, change something and try again.

NAT I'm so sorry AF has arrived. Sulking and general despondency is a perfectly valid reaction and I hope you're also getting lots of chocolate. I've never been through anything with such a rapid emotional rollercoaster before. Even falling in and out of love isn't like this!

O day for me today, I think, and DH is sick with the worst flu he's ever had. He hasn't left the house since Tuesday. He manfully BDed on Wed but he was winded for half an hour afterwards and I'm worried it might permanently hurt him to exert himself again (I've heard that exercise while sick with a virus can cause heart trouble).

Oh Gentoo....so sorry that you're back with us in the TTC. I can't imagine what disappointment and heartbreak you've had to face. I really hope your next BFP comes quickly if you're ready to try again. Sending you lots of thoughts for healing and lots of baby dust for all for the good things.

RoRo - I'm with you on the process improvements. I hate to sound sexist....BUT...there's no way a woman set this system up!!!! If it were me, I'd have an on the spot indication system, either the swimmers have made it or they haven't. None of this laying around hoping they get there and definitely no TWW!

Sorry to hear your bad news Gentoo

If I'm being eternally positive, at-least you have conceived so that's one step in the process, so hopefully there was a good reason why this didn't take and the next one will be more successful

Ro I feel for you with your Hubby's illness. Sometimes it feels like life is conspiring in a bad way against us

My acupuncturist was telling me yesterday more about unexplained fertility.
She said quite often when you go into IVF they find out what the real reason is because they test for different hormones levels etc. She said one of the latest exploration areas is autoimmune infertility. She said its worthwhile checking out whether your thyroid is ok as this has the ability if malfunctioning to see an egg and attack it.
Not a nice thought but logically plausible I guess
I have an under-active thyroid so Im already on medication so hoping that isnt a contributing factors to our lack of success

I have been away for a while. We went on holiday and I also decided to take a break from the forum so am catching up on a lot of posts.

Meg and Gentoo I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriages. Nat sorry to hear that you didn't really get any answers from your lap surgery and that now there may be a problem with your liver.

On our holiday we were very relaxed and gave it a really good go but no luck. Whilst we were away, our neighbour checked our mail for us and I asked him to throw away all the junk mail. Anyway caught up in the post, was a leaflet for a chinese medicine clinic listing what they specialised in. As I am clutching at straws, I took this is a sign that we had to go there. I asked my partner if he would be open to it and he said yes. If we have no luck, then I think we will take it as not meant to be. At this stage, I don't have a desire to go down the ivf path.

So sorry to read about all of you who have been having a hard time of it. It's hard to stay positive and keep trying, but I hope someone gets some good news soon that makes it all worth while.

Me, I'm wondering if I need a bit of a break from focussing so much on all-things-reproduction. Still try to hit O but maybe try to focus on some other things in my life as well.
