Sorry to hear you didn't get the answer you needed Nat! I really hope you get some answers tomorrow. I will be eagerly watching this thread.

And I totally empathise with you on the terrible GP. I could just go on and on about that today....but I won't! I didn't mind that she gave me referrals as they are handy to have. I was just put out that she wasn't interested in why I wanted them, nor discussed any of my symptoms or worries with me. Oh well

Vivre and Nat256 ....thanks for your advice on temps. My temp has now been up for 3 days so FF has finally given me an O-date! Yay! I'm not sure that it's the right O-date to be honest but I feel comforted to have one. We were BD'ing around the time so fingers crossed.

Yes...AMH is the Ovarian reserve test. I will go and have it if AF arrives this month. Until then I'll keep the $$ in my purse and hope for a BFP

Nat, to add further voice to the fact you are not insane, the last piece of paper my FS before scheduling my lap surgery was to give me a pregnancy blood test. My AF should have arrived well before my scheduled op but she said to me, the prime goal is to get you pregnant so she definitely doesn't want the lap if there is any chance I might be..

I remember once upon a time I used to think GPs knew everything but the more life goes on the more I feel I have to prompt them. I have another medical condition where I spent loads of time with Drs and the only great outcomes Ive had with them if when I have dictated what I want. It doesn't seem right.

    Not pregnant

So the blood test came back negative today and I'm not feeling too bad about missing out on a bub, I've been prepared for that, but I'm more concerned with what's going on with my body! I'm scared of what this all means since it's the first time in my life that AF simply hasn't shown up! I did shed a tear today, but mostly out of frustration. I feel like the medical folk aren't being too understanding of what's going on and that I might like some sort of reassurance, explanation, something....anything.

I spoke to the midwife today to book my op for next week and she was quite patronising when I said that the blood test had come back negative. She said that the urine test yesterday was just as accurate as a blood test so basically, what was I expecting? Hmmmm....I don't know if that's true but either way, isn't it good that I would be sure before they stick a keyhole camera in there??? Like you said Vivre, your FS wants that test! I then had to ask what happens if AF arrives around the op date and she was less than helpful on that too, and contradicted what I thought the ob had told me. So frustrating!!

Anyway, I have to admit that the ups and downs of the past week have got me questioning whether I want kids enough to do all this to my body, mind and emotions. That probably sounds awful but it's something I have to consider. It might sound ridiculous but I've just had the most awful, wasted week and I really feel that there's more to life. Ending up with a terrible cold isn't helping my grumpy mood...

Of course I may just need a good rest, (and possibly a wine ), before I make any rash decisions. I'll let the dust settle and think about it when I'm out of the drama.

Anyway, thank you all SO SO SO much for putting up with me this past week. Having this avenue has been my only sanity and I cannot express enough what it's meant to have my cyber buddies looking out for how I'm going.

to all, and I'll stop being a forum hog now

    So sorry it wasn't a positive Nat256!

I'm just about to head out so no time for a big long message back. But, just thought maybe the stress you've been under is the cause of your AF being late rather than anything physiological??

It has been a very stressful couple of weeks for you.

Feel free to hog forums and vent away and enjoy a wine! It really does help to have an outlet.

I hope you find out what is going on soon Nat. It's so frustrating to be brushed off. if you weren't ttc, you would probably just brush it off and say it is due to stress. As you are ttc though, you need answers. I don't think you would be able to have a laparoscopy if you have AF. Hopefully the specialist can spread some light on the issue.

I'm about to head off to north Queensland for 3 weeks. I don't know if I will log in whilst I'm away but I hope when I get back, you will have some answers and hopefully there will be another BFP.

I've definitely considered the stress/sickness thing (I've had a cold etc this week). I know it's probably pretty common to miss AF for these reasons. I suppose I just think that I've had far more stressful or ill times in my life so I wonder why that would happen now. However it's all possible and I hope it's a one off thing and all will be back on track soon.

Sorry Nat, that's not good news for you but don't lose hope. I had no idea the stress involved in all of this and the next story I hear about someone accidentally falling pregnant well.. probably best not to say..

Well maybe there is something in the water at the moment as Im still hanging in waiting. This is now my longest ever luteal phase of a massive 13 days and 28 days cycle length and no more than mild twinges rather than cramps.
Maybe its called the last cycle before a laproscopy stress that extends the cycle?

I had a couple of cheap internet home pregnancy tests that cover with the ovulation one yesterday afternoon and got a negative. This was 2 days after FF suggested I test. Ive decided Ill try and wait until tomorrow morning and if AF still hasn't arrive Ill go and get a early response one from the chemist.

The thing that is keeping up my hopes at this stage and this may be relevant to Erin is my temps are still raised well above my line every morning. It took me awhile to realise but looking at previous cycles, my temp usually drops below my cover line the day my period ends up arriving or sometimes the day before.

    to everyone

Sorry Nat, but happy ur pretty much okay with the negative. Fingers crossed for Vivre.
We're "kitted out" now with OPKs, temping, vitamins for both of us. Now if AF would only return (after recent unsuccessful 11wk preg) so we can get this ball rolling! My 41st birthday is coming soon and despite knowing it's bad for me, I AM feeling pressured.
