    Hi all
so, havent been on for ages but pop in every now and again and catch up on everyones news.
Cant believe we are coming to end of this ride, of course its only the beginning though!
My possible placenta previa has been confirmed as grade 4 complete placenta previa. Had 2 bleeding episodes so far last one ended up in hospital for observation for 6 days. Was actually quite scary as at one point they couldnt stop the haemorrhaging (sp?) and started prepping me for an emergency c section and I had steriods to develop bubs lungs. As he would have only been 27 weeks they had the NICU paedatrician come talk to me about viability/possible disabilities etc etc I was lying on a bed with 5 people standing around me, midwives and doctors and an anaethetist, and people running into and out of the room, panic panic panic .... AND..... then it just suddenly stopped.
I've had no more bleeding since then but am on complete bed rest at home til 30 weeks (another week and a half) then can go back to regular life - light duties only! Next bleed I am in hosp on bed rest until the baby comes.
They tested the blood and it is definitely placental not foetal. The big worry is the placenta will break down and shear away from the uterine wall or it will stop working properly for whatever reason and bub will get starved of nutrients or oxygen but as he is measuring 3 weeks ahead (75th percentile) they said its obviously not happened yet!!

So thats my news, still going thru the seperation as well, tho that pales in comparision!

Qotfu- oh my goodness... How scary for you!! Make sure u take it really easy! You have come this far and we need to keep bubs inside for as Long as possible. So glad bleeding stopped when it did. Phew!!!
Are they scanning you regularly? Id be insisting on fortnightly scans to b safe, to check the placenta isn't failing. Take care.

Hampton- wow only 11 weeks to go. How time flies hey? Hope your keeping well. I'm 27 weeks tmrw, feels like I'm heaps behind everyone else

Not much to report for me. I have borderline gestational diabetes and have to go to an education class this Friday. I'm assuming they'll tell me what foods are good/bad etc. my next scan is Monday. Been getting a lot of BH today, which is unusual as it normally happens only every few days...?

Hope everyone else is doing well x

Qotfu - That's really scary, lets hope its all done with now and you can just look forward to having a happy healthy term baby

Angenrod - good luck with the diabetes appointment, it's not that bad you just need to know what you can and cant eat to keep your levels in check. The last week I havent done so well and been going over the 7 limit. Here's a tip for you don't have chinese, we had one last night and I went from 4.8 to 9.2 gonna get into trouble when I see Ob on Tuesday.

AFM - well things are not looking good at the moment I am currently 34 wks 2 days and had my 2nd growth scan this morning (not good!!) they sent me straight up to the maternity ward for monitoring as he is not growng properly and has even dropped off a little. They are worried about pre eclampsia, but the only symptom I currently have is that he's not growing. So was monitored for an hour and had injection to strengthen bubba's lungs and have to have another one tomorrow (they are painful!!). Will have another scan on Wed and will have to go to ward twice a week to be monitored and when i spoke to OB he had consulted with another OB and they think they will induce at 36 weeks, for bubs' sake. OMG that's 2 weeks glad everything is practically ready for his arrival otherwise I would really be stressing about this.

Hope everyone else is doing great

Womble what a tough time for you also. I hope that Bubs starts to grow some more and that everythin goes smoothly with induction. Will be thinking about you. Exciting to know that you will be holding your baby so soon

Qotfu, wow you've been through a lot, I hope the bed rest is going well, sometime we just have to do what we have to do to get what we want!! I hope it's helping with the bleeding and bubba is doing well...

Womble, you've been through the mill too! It's good they are monitoring you, and baby coming in 2 wks OMG!!! so soon... Best of luck, thinking of you.

ANgenrod, good luck managing the GD. I still haven't felt any BH (or at least I don't think so!) and I'm 30+wks , so I'm a bit jealous of yours ALso because I've heard they prepare your uterus for labour and help make an easier birth... I really hope I start getting them soon!!!

Hampton, I'm with you with time flying by and still having so much to do!!

I hope everyone is doing well.

Womble- oh my, 2 weeks!! Eeeek.
It's sorta wonderful though as your gonna be holding your bubs sooo soon. In 2 weeks I'll only be 29 weeks. I'm loving bein pregnant, but when I hear your gonna be holding yours soon, i really wanna do the same!! Drink plenty of water as being dehydrated can stop baby from
Growing (so I've been told). I get monitored fortnightly for growth. Did it drop all of a sudden or gradually? My scan 4 weeks ago said bub was in 35th percentile, then 2 weeks ago said 25th percentile, so will see what Monday brings for me..

Keep us all updates. Good luck and I hope all goes well with the arrival of your little bubba.

Hello ladies - a quick update & hello from me.... On iPhone & brain is definitely double baby brained!

Womble - good luck & fingers crossed everything goes smoothly - I hear you on the steroid injections - they are not nice!

I've been following everyone's news on email but finding it tricky to post on phone - reception is intermittent on my phone grrr....

I've now been in hospital for 6 weeks & will be 31 weeks tomorrow. Cervix is still closed & boys are scanning ok but still very mobile & no one is plugging my cervix so can't go home yet :-(. Will still be on bed rest til they arrive which could be anytime over the next 5 weeks. The longer I incubate them the less time they'll spend in special care so it's all for a good cause. My GD is slowly getting less controlled as they get bigger & I regularly hypo as these boys suck all my glucose out of me if I don't snack. I seem to have skipped the hungry phase of pregnancy & don't have any room left now. Nausea has returned with a vengence...

Have been spending my time trying to recruit a nanny to help us out when we get home which is great fun in my hospital room complete with bed hair.

It's been great following all your stories & wish everyone the best.

    x Grace

Wow ladies you all seem to be going through the mill lately with GD, bedrest and all sorts. God women are tough cookies. It's a good job men don't have to do all this as they would crumble and fall apart. Hope everything gets easier for you all and that all babies are born healthy and strong. Then you can all give yourselves a big pat on the back for being so bloody strong through all of this.

AFM - Very uneventful thank god after hearing your stories but I am now 29 weeks and 3 days. Baby is keeping the hell out of me at nights but it is reassuring me so can't complain. Can't believe I'm gonna be a mummy in 10 weeks time, wow that is so weird to think that this long long journey is nearing its end. I pray that everything will be good xxx
