Gracefilled – thanks for the feedback on the Oricom, I’ve heard their noise sensitivity is great, happy with that – will order it soon :-) I’ve got my heart set on the City Select as well, what colour are you going? Sounds like you are staying positive which is great. How are you passing the days in hospital?

Belinda1010 – bubs is looking very cute – what a great picture you captured! Fantastic :-)

AFM – I had my first hypnobirthing consultation yesterday. I’m doing one on one sessions with a hypnobirthing specialist who is also a retired obstetrician! He’s fantastic and I’m really excited about using hypnotherapy as pain relief during labour. Yay! Kseds – I agree, birth does look like an amazing empowering experience and I can’t wait either!

We are going to need a new car. I only bought my car brand new a year ago but it’s too small – Ford Fiesta. Doesn’t fit the pram in, I checked. Bugger! Nevermind… live and learn ;-) Can't believe I need a new car for my pram!! lol...

Have a great night and speak soon :-)

    Hi ladies,

I haven't been on here for ages - I can't actually find my last post. When I post heaps it seems to be really quiet and then I don't post for a while and it seems really busy!

Claire - we have an Oricom monitor and it's great. Started with the 500, which finally died months after I dropped the handset in the bath. We got the next model up, but forget what number. I think we'll be getting another monitor for our room and will get a 610. We've used the lullabies on it to get ds to sleep since he was a tiny baby and even now at 2, even if he wakes up, we just remotely put the lullabies on and he goes back to sleep. We also have a City Select in the diamond colour. I think now that the red looks better, but there is a seller on eBay that makes custom covers for it. She has beautiful designs for girls and if we end up with a girl, I will definitely order one.

Anyway, will have to come back later as ds has just woken up!

Hi everyone, I'm so slack being on here.
I was remembering how worried we were at the beginning. Now that we can feel bubs move I'm less worried.
    Such a nice feeling.
    Anyone with other children?
I have a 15 mth old who will be 19 months when bubs is born.
He still uses cot and I think he will for awhile. I m getting a basinette, the wooden ones hoping to get enough time out of it. Ideas?

Hi Angel - I know what you mean about feeling more relaxed. I'm just at the yucky stage where I'm feeling really sore (my hips). I'm also tired because I'm not sleeping well. I've got a little boy who just turned 2, so will be 2yrs3mths when the baby is here. He still sleeps in his cot. I'm thinking of taking the side down and converting it to a toddler bed soon. Especially because when I put him into the cot, my tummy gets in the way. He's still in the nursery and I think I might move him out when the baby moves into a cot and make a big boy room for him. Then I don't need to decorate another nursery. He seems happy in his room, so it would be silly to move him now. DS stayed in his love n care bassinet until about 5 months. I delayed moving him earlier because it was winter and his room is downstairs!

Ha ha ha...I know what you mean about the bump getting in the way when putting DS into his cot.....it's quite uncomfortable now...

I was about to start googling the same thing - about transitioning a toddler from cot to bed.... my DS will be 23 months old when Baby#2 is due....and the only advice I'ev been given on that front is to make sure you do it a few months before the next one comes along, so there isn't the feeling of being "booted out of a cot because of the baby" (apparently they DO put 2 and 2 together.....!!!)

    Would love some ideas also.....

    Hi ladies

I've been so slack on here lately. I always read but haven't replied for a while.

Grace - hope you are doing ok hun. How's the hospital going? Hope you are getting lots of visitors!! I would be going mad in hospital. I hate the places. That's the only thing I'm dreading about giving birth.

Has everyone had their glucose test done? My doc still hasn't mentioned it and I'm almost 27 weeks. I thought I had to have it done by now?

Hey Gemini, I've been told to have my GTT between 26 and 28 weeks.... I would definitely be asking your OB right away....

Yeah I might have to. My next appt I will be 28 weeks exactly. So I thought that might be too late. Seems strange that he didn't offer it. Do they do it for everyone or just if they consider you high risk or something? Everyone I know has had it done.

Gemini- my Ob said they do our GTT between 26-28 weeks. Maybe your next appt will include the GTT. If not, ask when it's being done. Wow your next appt is when your 28 weeks, you seem so far ahead of me. I'm only at 22 weeks now..
