I was told on my last appointment that they would stretch my cervix at my next appointment which will be at 39 weeks and 3 days. It doesn't sound very nice and I'd never heard of it before. I normally go to these appointments on my own as DH works full-time but he's coming to that one with me just in case. Has anyone else had this done?

Well I'm being induced tomorrow morning at 5.30am!!!! I'm gonna have a panic attack now haha.

My cervix is already opening so he said its favorable for an induction. And tomorrow is my due date so he said we may as well do it while the hospital has an opening haha. I'm so scared now that I know it's gonna happen!

Oh my god how exciting!! You're going to see your baby soon. Don't be scared, just keep thinking of your little bubba and how cool it's going to be to meet at long last. Make sure you get a good sleep tonight because you have a very early start tomorrow! Good luck, hope everything goes well. Speak to you on the other side Gemini!!

I reckon I'm gonna go into natural labour tonight cause I'm so scared haha. They are breaking my waters at 6am then they will administer the pitocin or whatever it's called.

I'm so excited, knowing I'm gonna be a mum tomorrow. Poor hubby is a bit scared I think lol. I told him to go have a few wines tonight with his best mate to relax a bit. I'm gonna stay home and give my crusty feet a pedicure.

Gemini - good luck for tomorrow and I hope it all goes well... How exciting - I hope you have enjoy your last night. How coke they are inducing you so early?

Klong - I have my midwife visit tomorrow morning and she will be doing a stretch and sweep so I'll let you know how it goes! I wish she did it for me last week though at my 40 week visit.

So tomorrow is 41 weeks and I am so over it!! I was induced with DS at 42 weeks (and had him the next day), but I tried everything to avoid it (apart from castor oil). I really don't want to be induced this time either, so hopefully the stretch and sweep works well (OB didn't offer one last time).

Funny I was trying to really prepare myself this time, and read Birth Skills etc, but now I'm starting to forget everything... The book is in my birthing bag which has been in the boot of the car since my false start 3 weeks ago. It's funny to think that 3 weeks ago I was in the birth centre thinking that we would be taking a baby home with us!

Haha my hubby's idea of a pedicure is a gammon 5 minute rub that you wouldn't even call a massage haha.

Thanks for the wishes babe. Won't be long and this will be you!

I'm not sure why they are inducing me. The midwife said he would probably let me go over by a week. Then when I was sent in to see the ob, which is her hubby, he did a scan, had a feel around and said everything looked good. Then before he was about to send me on my way he looked at my form and said maybe we should do an internal. He did that, ouch, and then said that my cervix is already open and it would probably happen soon. Then he said with ivf pregnancies and knowing the dates etc, he could look at inducing
Me within a couple of days. Then he went to check his diary and the birthing suite bookings, came back and said are you feeling strong, we can do you tomorrow morning.

Hopefully you dont have to be induced again. I don't reckon any of those natural remedies work anyway haha, so bub will come when ready hey. Maybe just try the long walks or something. If anything it will help you unwind.

The stretch and sweep should help though. It's similar to what I had done today. He stuck his finger through my cervix and felt the water sack. It was a little uncomfortable but nothing too had. Will be nothing compared to what I'm gonna have to go through tomorrow.

Wow Gem - how exciting for you!! I'm totally going to be stalking BH for the next few days....think you could be the start of the next wave of babies appearing!

Mum2Angus - I have no idea how you aren't going crazy being overdue.... It would kill me!! But I'm not the most patient person at the best of times.... Hopefully the stretch and sweep does the job.

Well, we have our 36 week appointment tomorrow..... I'm a bit nervous about what the outcome is going to be.... Bubs definitely hasn't turned into position yet, despite all best efforts - I can feel it laying transverse - so not even breech. Which is annoying for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is quite a lot of abdominal discomfort and back pain. Not to mention its starting to reduce my chances of delivering naturally, which I would be a bit sad about. Not devastated - just hoping for healthy - but still, it would be nice.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see what tomorrow brings....!

Gemini, all the very best for today. I am so excited for you. I can understand your nerves though, I am feeling that way myself.

I was in hospital for a few hours on Sunday as I couldn't feel any movement after a long time, thankfully all was well. Back in Tuesday as I have a spider bite on my foot and GP wanted them to check it out. Aside from sore foot all seems okay.

I have appts at the hospital today (Wednesday) - Obs Medicine for my BP (which is no longer controlled adequately) and the the specialist Obs to see about a date or induction or caeserian. Think bubs will be here sooner rather Than later.

Good luck to all getting to the end of this pregnancy journey. Thinking of you all.
