Default Desperate!!!!!Need australian childrens doctor ASAP

    Desperate!!!!!!!!

Ok my daugther is 2 1/2 and is sick every week. EVERY WEEK.

Every doctor iv been to says along these lines - its just her glue ear making her sick.

She is on waiting list for surgery to help fix her ears but they put her on last priority.

Now she has been sick every week since tge day she was born!!! No joke! From rashs- face, arms, bum random large vomits (she just had tgat again tonite & 2 weeks ago) staff in her blood. She itches her butt cheeks, lower back, top of her neck and the bottom on her head(rite on the hair line) to the point of bleeding and sores which stay for weeks.

Colds, flu, ear infections, sore eyes, headaches, tummy aches.
    Everything!

She barely sleeps and is up every hr, sometimes every 30 mins. Her speacg is slow. Extremely clumsy, yet very co-orindated.

She is chunky on her arms and legs but not her belly face or bottom, yet she barely eats, when she does eats is always strawberries, fruit sticks, bsnanas, cheese, sausage, mince.

She has almost no interest in junk food at all! She drinks ALOT of watered down lite milk, and water, nothinh else, so i dont now why her arms and legs are chunky.

Shes extremely active, but cries alot.

I need to find a australian childrens doctor!! Not to be racist so dont say i am, its just because every doctor i get can not understand what im saying and i cant understand them, they dont listen to what i say and dont even look where i tell them shes hurt or what shes done they just write a prescription for antibiotics and send us out

Yet it never helps, the sores/rash on her head id still their, almost a year now.

And every comes back, nothing goes away!

I want some kind of tesr done or something. They can leave my baby sick for another 3 yrs.

I am in morayfield, willing to travel for a good doctor!! Anyone one with any leads gor a good 'childrens' doctor????

    Desperate!!!!!!!!

Are you going to bulk billing clinics? I usually find them more dismissive than someone of another nationality.

I have the most amazing Dr on the Sunshine Coast who tests for everything and is super thorough- my Mum lives near Sandgate and comes up the coast to see him. He has practices at Coolum and Sunrise Beach, so I don't know if that is too far for you. If you would like his details, pm me

I see Dr Cathrine Swanson at Wavell Height Medical Centre at Kedron - Gympie Rd.

She bulk bills children and has come highly recommended to me by several friends, including some with major allergies etc.

She took my concerns about Intolerances seriously, arranged for bloods to be taken, referrals to be made etc. She takes the time to hear the history - more than 5 minutes and is not dismissive. Is also more experienced in the pediatric side of things.

All the best, I understand the frustration of not being heard, hence why I changed.

No very sorry i dont mean like in a bad way about their race or anything, just mean about their english skills.

The ones i keep getting can not understand what im saying and vice versa, iv even had 3 who said 'sorry what do you mean' and i say her ears are hurting and her tummy hurts' and they say 'sorry i dont know '

And its soooooo frustrating!!! Their not doing anyrhing.
I probably should have written i need a doctor who speaks clear english and understands 100% english, cause thats what i ment.

Just got a sick kid in my arms and google is giving me cr@p!!!

This has gone on to long, and it needs to stop and be fixed.

Will talk bulk bill or will oay doc fees & willing to travel a out 2hrs to a doc, in any direction. Moneywise thats about all i could afford

i can very highly recommend dr greg emerson. He specialises in nutritional and environmental medicine and will find out the cause of your dd's issues. Not just give a pill or antibiotic. He has a website. He is expensive but i tell you seriously if you are committed to REALLY fixing these awful issues he will help you. He is absolutely fantastic. He is also on facebook and has blogs so you can see what he's about. Not your everyday gp but highly knowledgable, intelligent and has helped my family a lot.

I agree that clear spoken English and understanding is essential. It's really frustrating and not at all reassuring walking out of the gp's office knowing they didn't understand your concerns, let alone explain anything to you.

Poor bubba - hope you get her help soon. Yes, 2 years is too long to suffer from illnesses that can be easily prevented. It's quite worrying to be honest.

Do you have private health insurance? If not, I suggest taking out a policy for her at least. Nothing against the public health system (they do a great job with what little they have), but it seems that your DD is susceptible to illness (might also have to look into the root of this issue).

And I think you meant to say 'Caucasian', as an 'Australian' can have a heritage from any other country in the world. E.g. China, India....

Have you tried searching the yellow pages (Western names only)?

Unfortunately, even though people expect answers and to get help from the doctors in public health, you might need to get private health insurance, even a cheap lowest level cover as long as it has hospital cover for your family. This way you will not have to wait the 3 years you have been told. Public health can be great, but if they deem it not important like your DD then it can be terrible to wait for their waiting periods.

For now, you should go to a GP and be referred to a paediatrician. It seems like they would be able to help more than a GP in your DD's situation where not everything is clear.
