I thought I would just give quick update on my case. I just got home from a stay in hospital due to my hernia. They were tossing up on weather they should operate today or not. I pleaded with them to let me have today out of hospital as it was really important that I go to my dd1 final assembly this morning. They let me out with seconds to spare. I going back in the next two weeks to get a date to fix even though I currently pregnant. Apparently the hernia is 10.5 cms long and the whole 3 cms wide. So has to be fixed soon.

That's great Loving6, good luck with the surgery.

I still haven't even seen the dr yet - i'm really afraid i will be told to just 'live with it' *sigh*. I can't live with it so if i'm refused to go on the hospital waiting list i'll have to start saving to pay for a tummy tuck myself.

I didn't have a choice. As the kids started to arrvie for DD1 formal the pain started by midnight when it finished I couldn't hold down water. I spent more time in the loo with my head in the bowl than I did in the ball room. By the time we got home i couldn't even lay down. I just kept screaming in pain. So off the hospital we went. By time we got to hospital it wasn't too bad but it was sore when the e.r dr pressed on it I jumped through the roof.

I am glad to be home

    Sounds awful
I get bad pain too, have actually been to hospital a couple times due to it, but the doc always seem to think i couldn't get pain that bad from a split muscle or that i'm merely 'putting it on'. I only have a smell hernia so maybe that's why - feel like i'm not taken seriously.

I am sorry they have treated you that way. I never had pain like this before. So it must be hell to get regularly.

Please ladies if you get pain with your hernia, go to hospital.

My hernia nearly killed me this week. It strangled my bowel and perforated it.
I had to have surgery in the middle of the night. It was very scary as the risk of losing bub was way to high. It was so sudden. At lunch time it was uncomfortable by 3 pm it was painful by 6pm I was delusional. I am a prude but apparently I was trying to take off my underwear in front of the whole acute section of the ed (20 something bed around a nurse station). At one stage they were giving me morphine every ten Min's. I have never been in that much pain before. I was told I did have a choice not to have op as I would die.

    Please don't ignore your pain.
