Jaye - I hope what FS has to say is not as bad as what you are thinking.

Jessesgirl - Yes I have read that DHEA can lower FSH. It was somewhere on the Center for Human Reproduction website but I can't seem to find the page again.

leelee - Saw your other post about FSH. Can you find another clinic that doesn't care about FSH, and a doc that will try DHEA?

I was first tested last April, it was Day 4, and my FSH was 41. My whole world fell apart and I have been a basketcase ever since. My latest Day 1 FSH (in Jan) was 15. I took DHEA 75mg from May-Aug, then DHEA and Testogel together Sep-early Dec, then Testgel only up to two weeks ago. Two weeks ago I changed back to DHEA 75mg since Wazza said he'd had more success with it.

    Lastest blood tests (Day 39 of a long annovulatory cycle) were FSH 16.5 IU/L, LH 5 IU/L, E2 169 pmol/L.

I've been trying TCM herbs, acupuncture, various supplements, have improved my diet and lifestyle and reduced stress.

Some women say they've had success bringing down high FSH with TCM, Naturopath herbs, wheatgrass.

I am also lurking and posting the a US based network54 community called "Women over 40 with HIGH FSH". Some of them may also have ideas. Some of them suggested that too much androgens could actually fry eggs and exacerbate empty follicles. My last cycle I was taking both DHEA and Testogel and got all empty follicles.

Millie - Great news that bub is doing well.

LG, Nessika - Hoping to hear a postive update from both of you.

AFM - I finally got a bleed this morning (after a 52 day cycle), so have started jabbing Orgalutran. This cycle is with my old clinic. I am thinking of incorporating some elements of Wazza's cycle into this one, such as estrogen (Progynova) starting with FSH jabs, and the Nitrodur patch to increase blood flow.

Another thing, I talked with my boss yesterday about taking long service leave (13 weeks) sometime. I would be able to take this later this year. Thinking it may be good to get away from it all for a while, just sit at home and garden.

jaye: oh no i hope its not that bad but u must be feeling very down.... im really hoping its isnt all bad news. your having such a rough time with this, ui deserve a break.

yes its me who had the weirdly low fsh on dhea..but 2nd time i was on it for #2 it didint happen...my fsh stayed exactly 6 for months..so who knows?? its not meant to "fix" high fsh (for example it can raise your oestrogen which then artifically lowers your fsh etc etc i think) or low amh..how it works is much more complex, i read some scientific articles on it........

    ladies,

Jaye, all the best seeing your FS tml. It's been hard on you and hope you are able to cycle soon.

LG38, also want to send you some for your repeat BT today. the HCG and P4 have taken off to great numbers. How are you feeling hun?

Ness, have you had your repeat BT? I am also having my 7 week scan next week Wed...it is quite a nervous wait isnt it? All this waiting drives me mad...like LG38 mentioned, it is harder than the 2WW. How are you feeling at the moment? I am feeling queasy, depressed and uninterested in everything (the hormones!!!) as I dont usually feel this way. I have also completely lost my appetite and have been eating instant noodles instead. Not complaining as long as bub is fine.

Millie and Spot, that your scans all went so well. This thread is seeing a string of BFPs after you ladies. Hope there will be more to come.

    MrsOC, had your scan yet?

Hi Smurf, how are you going?

Hi Chook11, it is a really good idea to get the break so you can rest and focus on TTC and not having to think about work.

The last two days I have been taking orgalutran, and today start with 300 Puregon. I think I will chicken out on taking the estrogen alongside. However I will try the Nitrodur patch - it is just supposed to increase blood flow, so don't see that interfering with anything. The current cycle is an antagonist protocol. If this doesn't work we'll have a month off and then do Wazza's estrogen priming cycle.

I was reading the paper Wazza gave me on his protocol. It comes from a paper "Gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist/antagonist conversion with estrogen priming in low responders with prior in vitro fertilisation failure", by J. Fisch, L. Keskintepe, and G. Sher.

At the moment I have fairly low expectations of any of this working. We have talked about a life without children and will have to find a way to be happy with that. This is part of the reason for taking leave, to completely get away and think about what I want to do for the rest of my life.

However, we will never give up our dreams completely. We can try natural methods with Sharkeys and hope for a natural miracle, and maybe there'll be a breakthrough in technology that can help.

Did anyone hear that a paper "Oocyte formation by mitotically active germ cells purified from ovaries of reproductive-age women", by Y.White, D. Woods, Y. Takai, O. Ishihara, H. Seki & J.Tilly was published on 26 Feb 2012 in Nature Medicine as an online advance publication? This group believe they have found stem cells in adult women's ovaries. Through work I have been able to download the full paper if anyone wants it. Here is an article on it: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases...0226153641.htm

I wish that science would move faster. If it became available as a treatment in 10-15 years, I would be over there in a flash to have it done.

Hoping to hear some good news from everyone soon.

    Hi All

Chook - I really hope that you catch a break soon. Infertility is the most difficult thing that I have ever dealt with its just so hard. I'll be cheering you on and hoping that if this cycle is not the one then Wazza can make some magic for you

Jaye - just want to wish you luck for tomorrow and like Chook I really hope you catch a break soon too. I'll be keeping everything crossed for you too hun

AFM - My BT today showed that my HCG has increased from 160 - 3255 and P4 is up from 23 - 44 so looks like this bubba has put some serious effort in this week. I was very happy with those numbers, but as we can never not worry, I actually asked FN is there was any issues with it rising so fast, which she tells me there is not and that I am now in normal range. She said I can stop Crinone but I think I'll keep going with it for now just to be on the safe side.

It still hasnt sunk in properly yet!!

Chook - haven't yet read the paper but Stacey @ Sharkey's believes through Dr Tilly's research that females are probably regenerating eggs each month just like men are regenerating sperm regularly. Are you still going to Sharkey's next week? Understandable you feeling very anxious about where this is heading - just need to find & nurture that golden egg to get you over the line.

LG awesome numbers there, so happy for you!

M20 I'm sure everything will be perfect for your 7wk scan! I fluctuate from feeling positive to scared. I saw a GP today & she said that it is normal to worry especially when it's been difficult - IVF.

Ness, I perfectly identify with your feelings!!!

LG38, for the HCG and P4 levels!!! The last week of waiting must have been hard for you. Like you, things havent sunken into me as well ...I think the scan will make everything real...Are you scheduled for the scan already?

Chook11, I havent read the paper hun. Wishing that this cycle will work out for you.
