AArghh Ness, I am turning 38 this month We have been TTC since end 08 when I was stil considered 'YOUNG!!!!' according to the stupid FS and now I am hitting 38, the age when egg quality will decline!!! Got to be very very optimistic to get on with this journey...

I was trying to wear my summer pants and shorts and boy I am too fat to fit into them! I think the most weight I put on is around my abdomen where the injections are done...when I sit down, the few blubbery layers just pop out...i cannot zip or button!!! If I dont unbutton under my shirt, I cannot sit!

Still waiting for my FS secretary to revert on the NK cell test results. Seeing a different fertility specialist on Wed morning to discuss sperm magnification and SCSA.

M2O - Dont get too down about the age thing. I am turning 39 this year and have been TTC #1 for 7 years. I was and still am a little angry that of all the 5 FS I have been with over the years this one was the first to say straight to IVF, you have tried everything else and now we have to get on with it. Its very hard to remain positive sometimes with all the different things we get told though. I keep telling myself I am doing and have done everything I can over the years and surely it has to be my turn soon. I'm sure it is the same for us all.

I still have not had my AMH tested as my FS says there is not much point as everything else points towards me having a low AMH and with the low follicle count to consider also it wont change any treatment that she proposes?? We are in their hands.

I think the DHEA is messing with my ovulation a bit too, but I ovulated so late last month so who knows.

I battle with my weight constantly having RA and Diabetes, but I know the stims definitely helped me stack on a bit more.

I still believe that 2012 will be the year for us all (I'm starting out as positive as I can)

LG38, the next time when you are doing a BT for whatever reason other than within IVF cycle, why not just ask dr to include AMH. AFC scan and ovarian response during IVF are good indicators of ovarian reserve but I reckon knowing the AMH would be good as well, unless it is going to be a downer with knowing it. Personal opinion anyway I am the kind who likes to have all my facts and figures.

For you ladies who are and have tried DHEA, do you take it with an empty stomach or does it matter? Are yours powder encapsulated or sublingual types? Just curious.

M20 you were up late last night!! Funny as I was lying awake for hours & even thought to do a post as couldn't stop the thoughts going round & round. Does Dhea give anyone else insomnia?
M20 & LG I know we've had this chat before about age & time wasted. Regrets are a waste of time but for me it's inevitable sometimes I get really angry & frustrated - it's only natural. I know I'm lucky that it worked for me once I don't think I can take much more - stop take a breath, one step at a time hey.
I see plenty of celebrities falling pg 38 & 39 & what have they got that's any different to us except bucket loads of money - they are still human. Oh yeah the stomach fat it's a bugger - did you see Elle Macpherson & she is a decade older oh they also have a bit of extra help in that department, maybe shouldn't compare - Have a great day everyone

Ness - I had 2 embies transferred. It was an ED Frozen Embryo Transfer. 1 was a hatching blast and the other had stepped back and was a compacting morula that hadn't done anything during the thaw. I had my transfer on Dec 14, so am in my 6th week now (Week 7 will be achieved at the end of the weekend).

Mom2One - I relate to the IVF weight gain. I put on 7kg over the 3 years I've been TTC with IVF. I've found the prednisone does the worst damage (steroids). Then you lose a few kgs, and have to start again When you get UTD all that morning sickness will make the weight fall off again

LG38 - In the 3 yrs I've been trying, I've moved to 3 different clinics (including QFG in Qld), and tried 4 different FSs. It's important to find someone that is throwing everything at the cycles and who is really thinking about new ways to get results. My first FS put 11 'great' embies back in without 1 single test to see why they weren't sticking

'Hi' to everyone here. I had a follow up BT yesterday, and in 2 weeks my HCG has risen from 672 to 36,841 and progesterone is 52.2. I'm in week 6 now. It's reassuring to know things are still tracking well. I have my heartbeat scan on Friday.

M2O - As my next cycle is almost upon me I have decided to wait and see what this one brings. I think if there are no improvements in this one then we will have to have a whole raft more tests done, as time is of the essence. For now though I am trying to focus on the positives as hard as that is.

My DHEA is powder caps. I have been taking 75mg for 5 weeks now and have noticed some differences, not only with my skin but at ovulation also. Maybe I'm kidding myself but I'm taking these signs as positives for now.

Ness - I agree its difficult not be angry, but if my 7 year journey has taught me anything its that it is my body and my life and sometimes we need to be pushy in our situation. Surely all these celebs have that we dont is extra $.

I have been reading some of the posts on the CHR website as there are a lot of women in their 40's that have posted their BFP stories after using DHEA and it seems to cheer me up when I need it.

I think once we all have our babies we should get together and hjave a very large vodka or 2 as we will all most definitely deserve it!!!

    Good morning gals!

Yeah man LG38, celebs not only have the money, they also get the best docs and best care...I guess that certainly improve their chances by leaps and bounds. My skin isnt getting acne fewh! Hair is a bit more greasier but fortunately hasnt increased in hair loss. But this DHEA isnt helping me with energy levels, I am tired in the arvo and always yearning for a nap. Do you take them on an empty stomach? Coffee will be the one I down once I complete this journey!!!

Milliegirl, wow amazing nos!!! Keep them going up up up!!! I have changed FS for the third time in 3 years all for various reasons.

MrsOC, how are you hun? Thinking of you.

Millie - Congrats on your numbers!!! Yep prednisolone will stack on the weight. I have been on 20mg a day for 5 years for RA and it can do some serious damage to your waistline.
The IVF stims have had an impact on me though - 5kg in one cycle!!

I'm pretty happy with the FS I have now, she is conscious of my age and other conditions and doesn't waste time on things that are not going to change the way she treats me. I have been with 5 in total over the 7 years we have been TTC and this one seems to be on my wavelength to a degree, which can be unusual.(I'm not sure my wavelength is the most normal sometimes)

M2O - My energy levels seems to fluctuate. I managed to get all the unpacking done in a week after we moved which was pretty impressive, but I've had a few days whereI've felt pretty tired too. My hair is very greasy as is my skin though, its quite nasty
I dont really take anything on an empty stomach but thats mainly because a lot of the medication that I have to take will do damage on an empty stomach so I'm conditioned not to. I gave up coffee along with a lot of other things at the beginning of our journey and now no longer miss it at all, but it does seem to be the one that most people miss the most.
