Poor LG38, RA, Diabetes and endo....that is a lot you are going through ! I hope you will get your dream fulfilled soonest! 450IU is high. I had that. I had both AMH and AFC done so I feel a bit assured. It will be good you ask Dr Hope about AMH. I wonder what dose she is going to put you on next. I have asked to be put on 300IU cos obviously 450IU produced lots follicles for me but poor fert rate. I hope 300IU will improve things. Response may be predicted slow but hoping can get quality.

You may think of asking Dr Hope if high gonal F compromise egg quality at the expense of egg quantity. I questioned several FS this question but they could not conclude, they said 'maybe', two said 'no' the excess gonal F will be washed out in our urine. So obviously they dont have answers to our questions, how frustrating! That is why my signature says I am an IVF guinea pig haha....

M2O - I will definitely ask FS re Gonal Dose and Egg quality, although I only got 5 eggs and only 3 of which were usable so maybe a lower dose would not even produce that many which could be a problem.
I'm pretty much sold on this DHEA stuff now so am going to pursue that line also.
Am waiting for the phonecall for my bloodtests results at the moment, trying to tell myself not to let it upset me as I already know the answer

I will definitely jump on the other forum, thanks for the invite

M2O - Just got confirmation from FN that it is BFN,no surprises there. I asked her though if my FS has prescribed DHEA in the past and she says she has so now I just have to convince her that I need it!!!

Bummer about the bfn part but hooray that she does prescribe that. I have been reading about DHEA and getting conflicting info on it, quite frustrating. I want to try it but I guess I am not desperate enough esp with all the negative effects it may bring...I started the homeopathic ones (bought it some months ago but dare not take them until recently had another bfn and also found out they are not the concentrated ones prescribed by drs)..what the heck, the bottle says it is for general well being so I just took them.

One forum buddy says the ones drs prescribed aren't cheap but the ones on the US website is cheap like nothing.

M2O - Have a look at this link. I came across the other night. Its American, but most of the stuff about DHEA is. Its basically a forum but I found it really informative as its people that have taken it themselves and one of them is a Dr.

    Dear Ladies,

Sorry have been absent for a while.

Saw a new FS yesterday. He says he would like to monitor me for a while, and will try a more softly, softly approach to coax the eggs out. He scanned me and said that despite what the nurse saw it doesn't look like I ovulated this cycle. So feeling like an awful old dysfunctional machine at the moment. I had bloods taken today and will find out more when we see him again on Friday.

The new FS wants me to stop taking DHEA, and only take testosterone gel. He feels that taking both is excessive. He also examined DH (which old FS never did), and after looking at DH's blood test results has also put him on testosterone gel. So both DH and I are on testogel - him on a whole sachet per day, and me on 1/4 of a sachet.

At least this new FS seems more thorough and methodical and willing to take time to answer questions. We still have the appointment with Wazza in Feb for another opinion.

I am deeply in grief at the moment, there is a large possibility it is never going to work out for us. However, will still keep trying with the TCM and go through the process with FS, just in case we get lucky. I am very emotionally spent and don't think I can keep posting a lot, will be taking a break from bub hub for a while.

Best wishes for everyone cycling or about to start.

Chook11, I can hear your discouragement It is certainly tough on this journey. Glad you like this new FS. It is important to have great FS and FN esp when the journey is already so hard on us physically, emotionally and every other aspects. Wazza seems a wonderful FS, I kept seeing him being mentioned on forums. Pls have a good break and we love to see you anytime u come in.

LG38, wow what a long thread a lot to digest. The centre for human reproduction website kept coming up and I also read a bit on their website. DHEA sounds promising but after reading, I am still very hesitant I am scared of all the side effects, it is a male hormone after all...hair thinning and acne are still bearable, but i read about AF becoming lighter and shorter. My AF is already just 1.5 days short I wonder what would happen if I take DHEA? Sorry I am such a whim...

LG38, I have written to one reliable company in the US about shipping DHEA to Oz. We can forget about ordering from there cos though they can ship products to oz, they cannot ship DHEA. Exactly like I have guessed. So you can only get a script from FS and buy from a compounding pharmacy. Mummyhopes says the one in Docklands is reliable. If you go to the DHEA - did it work for you thread, you wil find the info there.

Chook & all the best for you & DH with new FS & approach. I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling so down, you've been so strong & determined - I'm still very hopeful for a tiny precious miracle - lots of for you

LG How encouraging that Dhea can be beneficial to RA & Diabetes as well as LOR - I'm in NSW, Syd, guess my FS is quite young & open minded, he told me he's been to US on conferences re Dhea. Being more informed definitely helps the journey but then you find conflicting advice ,evidence & of course the fact that all of us respond differently too. Still I've seen a few ladies here on our thread who have been done many cycles then on Dhea for several months & finally BFP so that is encouraging. Lots of

M20 understand your concerns about Dhea - I've been taking since May this yr, w a few wks off here & there when cycling the side affects haven't been too bad. A couple of zits, mainly on my back & haven't noticed any hair thinning yet - AF not ligher maybe a bit shorter. $57 for 100 tabs (6 weeks) also get some back from private health insurance. I'll check out the other website too as definitely have LOR & AMH is only 1. Am up to cycle 7 & consistently get only 1 or 2 follies, except last cycle got 3 so I need high dose - 400IU. I hope that 300IU gets you over the line will it be a long or short cycle?

Jaye How are you? I hope bleeding has stopped finally!?? Then you can start making plans again with a new cycle & fresh hope

Linds, Millie, Smurf & everyone else
