I'm in the tww, due to test on the 1st December. I'm not gonna test before then cos last time I did that (last month) I got my hopes up that even if it was a bfn it could have been because it was too early to test.

Aargh the waiting is so hard. Bubba was sick for the last two days anyway, and I've been on my own so that has definitely kept my mind off things.

    Hi ladies,

Just coming over from the November thread. This will be month #14 for me. This is our second month trying the Sperm meets egg plan.Apparently this technique has a high possibility of success by 3 months,so .

I will be testing on the 15th this month,if all goes to plan.

Also, just this month gone I visited a hypnotherapist for some birth trauma I suffered with my DS birth. She explained that the mental stress I had been carrying may well be the reason I've had trouble conceiving this time around. She went on to use a hypnosis technique which has left me with no emotional attachment to my previous birth experience.I was a sceptic but now.wow. I'm a different woman.

Has anyone ever heard of this sort of thing happening. How much of an effect can previous trauma have on the bodys ability to concieve?

I haven't heard of birth trauma stopping anyone getting pregnant, alot of births are traumatic. Have you thought about seeing an FS, after 15 months they may be able to help make it quicker.

The birth of my DS almost claimed both of our lives. We are truly lucky to be alive. I realise that most births are very traumatic for women. I understand this. But when a person can't go about there day to day life without breaking down in tears, shaking, vomiting, nightmares etc. life can be very unpleasant.

This sort of trauma is a little different.

The mind and body are connected, so the way I understand it is that stress or trauma of any kind can cause a physical reaction from the body itself. DH and I have conceived successfully once and believe we can again and due to our age we will wait until 18 months before looking into this.

Gosh, you're right. Sorry for being quick to judge. I'm sure that the stress you've been feeling could affect conception. Could it be like PTSD? Post traumatic stress disorder.

I'm glad the hypnotherapy helped, everything you do to reduce stress will help you conceive. Things like nutrition as well and vitamins, acupuncture.

It took me eight months to get pregnant with our ds as I had two miscarriages. I get preggers quickly but couldn't get them to stick.

I took vitamins, did acupuncture and looked at my nutrition, don't know if it helped but I wanted to do everything to get to my baby.

I think getting through this ttc is about distraction. Trying to find other things to focus on, someone suggested to me that your ds needs you now so just think about how you can make his life fab and fun and use your creative thinking for that instead of ttc. Mind you venting on bubhub is good.

Good luck, sending you lots of baby dust!
