I have mine planned out. I want the motherhood celtic knot, I would like it between my shoulder blades on my back, or on the shoulder haven't decided.

    http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...l6GuUhXCGADjtQ
It looks like this. It is meant to represent a larger heart holding a smaller heart, a mother's love and protection.

You can add names or what ever you like to it. But usually people tattoo a dot somewhere within the knot, to represent each child.

All I need to do now, is get the guts to do it. lol

I have 4, with plans for more. My first tat I got when I was 17. It's an angel looking up at the sky with her arms open and reaching up, in memory of my mum who passed away when I was 13. It's on my right shoulder blade. My second is a 'tramp stamp' that my DH drew himself. I refuse to get his name tattooed on me, so this was the next best thing. It's a simple tribal design with 3 frangipanis in the middle. The frangipanis, for me, are a symbol of relaxation and calmness (there's a massive story behind it but I won't go into it here). My third and forth are our DDs names, I have one on each wrist. The meaning behind them are obvious lol.

I am planning on getting a butterfly (haven't decided where), which to me symbolizes my freedom, and the Pregnancy & infant loss ribbon in memory of our angel baby (again haven't decided where), and finally I will get our next child's name. All my tattoos have special meaning behind them- I personally don't see the point of getting something permanently tattooed on myself 'just because'.

DH has a few. He has one on each side of his chest (he drew one, his mum drew the other), he has one that takes up his entire left calf, a geisha (sp?) girl on his left arm, which will eventually become a full sleeve, 3 separate ones on his back which take up pretty much from his neck to the butt- that will also become a full back tattoo. He has 1/2 sleeve on his right arm, which is a tribal design. He also has my name tattooed on him but he had it covered with the 1/2 sleeve when we separated. Ummm, I think that's it. He still has a lot of work to be done before they are finished.

*jealous* can't wait to get the rest of mine done. Definitely getting DD's name done after extending my Cross on my back. And thinking of a few more even though DH hates them. I don't care

    This could take a while...

    1. A half moon and stars on right foot
    2. A little 'fallen angel' on left foot
    3. Another angel type thing on left ankle
    4. A star with a skull in the middle on right ankle
    5. A mermaid on right lower leg
    6. An 'evil' cherry on left wrist
    7. An ace card, dice and bats on left forearm (underneath)...that's my avatar
    8. Half sleeve on left arm consisting of stars, a fairy and some writing
    9. 'In darkness there is also light' with a couple of stars on right forearm (underneath again)
    10. Half sleeve work in progress on right arm, includes Jack from The Nightmare Before Christmas and some other characters and some writing
    11. An angel and devil on right shoulder blade
    12. A gothic type boy and girl on left shoulder blade, he's ripping his heart out of his chest and giving it to her, underneath it says 'I give you my heart'

The reason why the half sleeve on my right isn't completed yet is because I'm pregnant. And I'll need another one on my left leg because I feel uneven lol.

I've got 8 but they are all pretty well hidden. Dh has said no more as he doesn't like them. My solution - have more babies as I have my children's names and would have to keep adding -on second thoughts ....

I have 4, but will get more after I pop this baby out. I have an angel on my right shoulder blade, a tramp stamp my husband drew me, DD1s name on my left wrist and DD2s name on my right wrist.
