12 week old - settling question

I was just curious, at around the 3 month old mark, does/did your bub cry every time you put them to bed?

My DD is 13 weeks tomorrow and she absolutely loses the plot when I wrap her for sleep. Sometimes she calms quickly and other times she cries for ages. We have other health issues with her that don't help the situation, but I was just curious to know if your babies cry every time or if you sometimes (or often!) get them off to bed with no crying.

We follow the tired signs etc but she's on to us pretty quickly and is not inclined to go down quietly!

Hey there,

My son is 15 weeks and he has a protest cry everytime he is being wrapped for his daytime sleeps. Usually it only lasts for a minute or two. He is quite the little showman though, the way he starts crying is as if his whole world was ending, I give him a kiss put him in his cot and walk out, the cheeky devil opens his eyes, looks at me, sees that mummy is being serious, and decides its not so bad and he may as well go to sleep.

Haha yeah DD cries like it's the worst thing in the world. She usually drops in intensity as soon as I pick her up after wrapping, but I need to settle her in my arms for a while before I can put her down without her screaming again. I'm using the Love Me Baby Wrap Me Ups at home because I can zip her up in it before she realizes and starts screaming.

Yep, pretty much every time! Only for as long as it takes to put the dummy in her mouth though lol. By the time she is wrapped and dummied her eyes are rolling around in her head and she is usually asleep within 20 seconds

I found she didn't like the wrap me ups, prefers being firmly swaddled for some reason

Hi Cue, DD is exactly the same age as urs (4th Aug!) and cries overtime I put her to bed. I have started to sleep.her on her side in a sleep positioner untapped during the day but still wrapped at night. We too watch for tired signs but she still needs to be patted or fed or rocked either completely asleep or 99% asleep! I would rather she wasnt this dependent on me to go to sleep but Im going with it for the time being. I have also given her a soft velour blankie.which she likes ans im hoping that I transfer her dependence to this soon. It worked with my 2yr old DS at the same age so fingers crossed!

There is a wonder week at 11- 13 weeks. I'm hoping it's that as 12 week old DS is the same atm!

It's nice to know she's not the only one - especially another bub the exact same age! How did you transfer the dependence from you to the blanket?

Bambi - We have only just introduced the dummy and it is helping soothe her, I didn't want to use one but figured it'll help with managing her reflux and it's gotta be better for her than all that stress and crying.

We're in tresillian at the moment (for a bunch of reasons, not just sleep) and they've been great for improving the routine and getting more sleep, but it's nice to know how much is normal from other mums!

I started by tucking the blankie under his/her arm while feeding and the same when having cuddles/wind down time so that blankie is associated with feeling sleepy and happy and snuggly. now that DD is unwrapped for day sleeps I tuck it into to the sleep positioner with one end between her arms at her chin (not enough loose to get over her face though) while I pat her to sleep and she cuddles it and grasps it when she is trying to sleep and when she stirs she sort of feels for it. Its like it gives hee hands something to do and doesnt wave them around. How long do Tresillian say to wrap bubs for?
