Wow, it looks like there are a few of us studying teaching....

After studying at another Uni (CSU), I have found Curtin to be fantastic! Their website is so much easier to navigate and there is loads of interaction encouraged between students, particularly when doing the weekly tasks. Although time consuming, I have found these tasks, and the interaction that results from them to be fantastic. It provides a feeling of inclusiveness and helps to alleviate some of that isolated feeling tha you can get when studying by distance. My experience so far has been amazing and I would happily recommend studying through Curtin/OUA to anyone! For those of you starting next sp, good luck! I'm doing 155 and 140, which I understand is a pretty heavy workload!

I'm just finishing up a Master of Teaching (Birth -12 years) through Uni Western Sydney. Essentially I come out of it with a 4 year teaching qualification, with the option of early childhood or primary. I've had casual work in both and enjoy it

I had a bit of a WTF am I doing moment today when I realised I start in less than 4 weeks. I've wanted to do this for something like 15 years and now that it's just around the corner I'm doubting that I can actually do it

Hi, I'm currently studing a BaEd (primary) through Curtin Uni (facilitated through OUA).
I've toyed in the past with studying education. Does that mean it's entirely online? Do you have to undertake practical blocks?

I'm also doing B. Early Ed through OUA/Curtin.

Doing three subjects is so time consuming though (I also work four days per week and run two small businesses from home) I've found that all of the constant tasks for which you need to respond to others plus do your own is the hardest bit for a measly 2% mark (if you break it down).

Also disappointed that I have a B. Dance Teaching (QUT) and none of my subjects can be credited. Boo hoo!

Only going to do 1 subject this SP as we are going o/s for two weeks and with Christmas etc I'd just like a break.

Otherwise I enjoy studying again but I have one degree, a half degree in Psych and an Adv. Dip. in Make Up Artistry so I think I'm an eternal student at heart.

Best of luck with your studies!

PS - studying through distance still means you need to do your pracs at a school/kindy/child care plus you need to have access to children. One subject had me weekly assessing a child and I was like ahhh where can I find one?? As SD was too old! Lucky my friend was kind enough to let me use her son so we've developed quite a bond now as I'd never normally see him every single week! Just something to keep in mind if you are thinking of studying.

Hey everyone I am looking to study Bachelor of Education (Primary) through Curtin Uni and I am looking forward to it. I have just seen the text book prices and I am wondering anyone knows of a better place to get text books new or used?
