Default How to deal with burns???

Sorry wrong section I need answers quickly

I burnt my palm & finger on a hot frypan don't ask how lol. I'm sitting by the sink running cold water over it but every time I try to move it stings so bad !!!! I feel so bad for burns victims it's a horrible pain!!

Any advice on how to deal with burns aside from the cold water???

Ow! I know how much burns hurt. If it isn't too big you can buy burnaid cream from the chemist. It is really magical stuff. Put it on the burn and the relief is instant. When i burnt my finger i made a 'cast' out of a wet tissue that fit it and put it in the freezer. I then put it on my burn once it was really cold. I think i heard from somewhere though that xold water is better than ice water so not sure if you should follow that advice! But if you can fo an buy the burnaid cream! Hope it feels better soon!

If you have any burn cream or aloe vera, put that on and then cover the burn completely (bandaid:bandage). The air/oxygen touching the wound is what makes it hurt.

Keep it under cold running water til the heat has gone out of the burn (no longer hot to touch), then off to the pharmacy for some solosite gel anda dressing to keep it moist and covered which will keep it clean to prevent infection and help with scarring. This probably doesn't help, but the fact that it hurts is actually a good sign, burns that go deeper don't hurt because the burn has damaged the nerves and pain receptors of the skin, making it a higher degree burn!

Stick with the cold water, and then pawpaw cream if you've got any around the house.

Paw paw has petroleum in it. Not a good idea on burns

Honestly cold water is the best until it stops stinging, if it's still stinging, you still need it. An alternative to standing at the sink is an ice/water mix in a bowl (if you have ice) or wrap your hand in a cold pack, or even a bag of frozen veg.

After the pain has gone, I would use the burn aid, but it isn't really as good as cold if you are still in pain.

I agree with PP that said 'Burnaid'. DP is a welder and we always have Burnaid in the house because he swears by it.

Burn aid is amazing.... It actually makes it feel like your hand is still under the water - we use it for all of our burns patients at work

Cold running water, it not only relieves the burn it also cleans the wound.
DON'T use anything frozen on it for too long as it will make it worse.
As for on it after- if you don't have burn cream try aloevera, honey orrr if you have any some mashed banana.
