Default Help! Preterm contractions & show??

Did anyone in similar situation to this make it to full term??

I'm in hospital waiting out 24hrs of irregular contractions (anywhere from 5 to 60 mins apart) and slight bloody show (only on wiping). I'm 35w + 3.
I'm being observed for next 24-48 hrs, but no-one here is willing to say how long I've got to go, or what bubs chances are of making it to 37w.

Anyone been in similar situation? Did anyone not go into full labour within a day or two, or should I be preparing myself for birth of premmie baby very soon????

    Hey

It's really impossible to say what will happen, but it's certainly possible that this will settle down and you'll stay pregnant for quite a few more weeks yet. As long as your water doesn't break the hospital will just watch and see.

Even if baby does choose to arrive now, 35 weeks, while not full term, is close enough that baby should still do quite well and will probably only need a day or so in special care just so they can keep an eye on her.

My DD was born at 36w after my waters broke out of the blue - no dramas at birth and just a day in observation. We took her home three days later.

Good luck, I'm sure everything will be fine and who knows, you might be going home tomorrow

    Hey Lucy
I had a show at 33 weeks but the midwives didnt think I had. Then at 34 weeks I bent down to feed the cat and my waters broke. I spent 2 days in hospital then had an emergancy ceaser because my bub was breech. She was born a healthy 5lb with no complications and only spent one night in the special care nursery.
Good Luck. Hope it all goes well

I know I'm not the only one, though!

    Hope everything is going ok?!

I had a 36 weeker and she did well, just needed a little help with breathing at times and feeding.
