Thanks Cal1 and Bonbonn for the warm welcome and the !

Cal1 - I hope the lovely witch AF visits soon! Who would've thought before going through this whole IVF process that you'd get excited about a visit from AF!

Bonbonn - good luck with your next FET! What stage embie will you be transferring?

Babystepswa - looks like we're in the TWW together! I'm just a few days behind you and due for my BT on 19 Jan. this will be our month - lots of to you!

As for me, I'd love for this one to be the BFP I have been waiting for but I'm not feeling confident at all about this cycle I had a small bleed a week before my FET but FS still wanted to proceed (has anyone else had this?!) and already getting AF symptoms the same as the last 3 failed transfers. That dreaded AF always seems to visit before the end of my TWW

and good luck to everyone else xx

Babystepswa and Snowbunni, hope your TWW goes fast, and you get your BFP’s. Snowbunni, you are so right, every step of it all is exhausting and I really do think that the only people who understand, are people that have gone through infertility themselves. I had a woman at work late last year say in morning tea chatter, that IVF should be banned and her tax dollars shouldn’t be going towards IVF medicare rebates because the world is already over populated (she has 2 kids). It can be hard when people say insensitive stuff. Don’t lose hope on your bfp just yet, you never know.

Jessegirl sorry to hear about your job stuff, the financial burden of all of this can be really tough. I really hope you find a new job soon, maybe now that people are starting to get back to work for the new year, there will be more recruitment? Our clinic is pretty expensive (9k a cycle, get 5k back I think) and I wonder how we will go if we need more than 3 or 4 cycles.

Bec, hope that you start feeling better soon and that the change in meds works for you.

Lillystar, best of luck for the transfer!

I’m just waiting to stop the pill for AF. My fiancé is fifo for work at the moment so I’m trying time it on his week at home. Due to start on the 21st

What do you experienced ladies think about rest after a transfer? Do I need to take a few days off work to relax and rest (I have an office job) or would it be fine to go back to work the next day? Also are any of you having acupuncture on your transfer day? I think we’re going to set up my acupuncturist to do a session on me on the day of the transfer.

Hi Ladies, Hope you are all doing ok and had a good Xmas and New Year. I am back from holidays and wow this thread has got busy. Good to see and hopefully it will mean a lot of BFPs in the new year.

Jessegirl - I have everything crossed you get a new job ASAP. My contract did not get renewed after December so I know how you feel. They gave the position to a guy who they said could be more flexible with locations (people say there is no discrimination but there is). I am looking for some part-time work but it's hard juggling treatment and work. I think more jobs will become advertised in the new year though so try and stay positive.

Clementine Grace - They say you can go back to work straight away after a transfer. I always rested the first day and went back to work the next day. If you can day a day or two off I would. I have also done acupuncture the day of the transfer. To be honest for me it was just one more stress of trying to get to the acupuncturist on time as my old specialist was always late doing the transfer. They do say acupuncture can help with implantation so maybe give it a go.

babywishes4me Good luck with jabbing etc. 3 stim cycle lucky!!!!

Snowbunnii81 I really really hope this is the one for you. I found it interesting that you said you always bleed before the 2WW is over. I was the same, I changed clinics and they found out I have low progesterone. Have your progesterone levels been checked thoroughly? My old clinic over looked this for 3 years!!!!

Lillystar - Good luck with you FET on Thursday

To all the other ladies good luck and keep us posted about your progress.

AFM - I stop BCP on Monday and then it all begins.

Hi ladies, was wondering if I could join?

I am a first time IVF'er and am scared and excited at the same time. I still have to have my appointment where they give you the meds and instructions etc, but that is on Saturday, which means I can start when I get AF next, which should be around the 19th!

I'm a little worried though...Everyone seems to be taking the pill first, but my FS never said anything about that?

She seemed pretty impressed with the last 8 months worth of information we provided from our last FS! We were only missing the HIV test which we both did on the day.

I'm currently in the TWW of an unprescribed Clomid cycle, and I'm still hoping it does the trick (my one and only Clomid cycle), but I'm not counting on it, and I am looking forward to IVF.

I've done injectable cycles before, so the needles don't scare me...what scares me is if it doesn't work...ever! It's exciting to move onto a new avenue, but it's upsetting when you realize it is basically your last avenue

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Snow- we will be transferring 5 day old embies, we're booked for the 18th of Feb.

Summer- why do people always have an opinion about a topic they usually know little about. Isn't it easy for a fertile woman to rule judgement over IVF. I'm sure in her opinion IVF is a waste of money, but I'm sure she would give all the money in the world to have her two kids.

Welcome Disney! I'm currently taking the pill, start jabbing Monday, my periods are all over the place and I don't ovulate, but if you have regular cycles I'm sure you will be fine

    Hi Disney,

I think people are usually only on the pill when you don’t have a regular cycle. I have mild pcos and do ovulate, but I can never predict when AF will come, so that’s why i’m on the pill. Also, my partner away interstate/os for work at the moment a lot so we had to time it when he was home. My GP thinks it’s much better to just wait till you have a natural cycle, I kind of wish we could, I hate being on this pill! It makes me depressed and have terrible skin.

I think everyone’s ivf cycle seems to be different depending on which clinic you go to? Mine is only 10-14 days of injections before the trigger and then the egg pick up, but some people seem to be taking drugs before their cycle starts (i’m on metformin). Everyone is different i think.

    Good luck with this cycle!

My FS must be confident my body will produce enough follicles (at a scan at the end of last year it was 20 in one and 16 in the other) as they only have me on 112.5, so I'd say that mine is a pretty low dose

Also, our FS put me on the pill (only the active ones not the sugar ones) to basically allow them to control my cycle and avoid me ovulating too early but to ensure that my period arrive when we wanted it to so that we didn't wait to long to start the injections.. they basically called it a cross over pill.
