I wonder if old held beliefs about the values of young girls is the main reason behind this?
Otherwise, society's going down the gurggler.
They think people didn't help because of a situation where a man was prosecuted for helping a accident victim.

Even if people don't want to touch the child why not stop on coming cars and call for help.

Oh this just breaks my heart... these things happen in just a split second and could happen to any of us. I can't believe so many people just walked past and the driver(s) did not stop. I am absolutely horrified.... my heart breaks for this child and her mother... i can't imagine what they are going though.
I only hope that if anything ever happens to one of my children that someone will stop and help.....

I saw this last night. It so upsetting that time and time again these things happen and people walk right by that poor little baby.

Even in the end though.. the woman who finally found her just dragged her to the side of the street and tried to find her parents, then her mother ran in and carried her off. Are there no ambulances in that area? Why was a girl who was so internally injured jut dragged to the side so cars could get through when she finally is "helped" makes me sick to my stomach. That poor baby and her parents.

eta... the driver in the picture is looking straight at her, I know it is grainy but he is looking at the road, his van is tiny and she doesn't look that small that you wouldn't see her there. wtf.

THis makes me So angry and Sad

I watched it I was just covering my mouth with both hands I couldn't believe what i was seeing! Then my heart sank when the news reporter said she was brain dead and unlikely to recover.

I'm horrified. I want to attack those people who ran her over. HOw could they?! I don't even run over road kill if i can avoid it and they're allready dead (i love animals).

I wonder about such highly populated countries like that if people just don't get desensitized. What a scary world we live in when this sort of **** is possible

Looking at the man walk past that girl like she was a dog on the road - to not even look at her, to me, that's not avoiding prosecution. That's just plain lack of humanity and care.

Reading this article again makes me so angry. So very angry. But honestly, this isn't the first time I've seen a picture of a female child being left for dead on the road in this particular country.

You know the worst part was that they didn't even look at her. Not directly.

There was no, "Oh, I want ot help but what if I get into trouble?" moment... you know, where people pause, think, look around trying to figure out what to do. Nobody did that. She got no more attention than if she was a spilt bag of potatoes that people would just ignore and walk around.

AND SOMEONE DROVE OVER HER AGAIN! WTF?! Okay, so maybe first driving didn't realise... figured he'd hit a sack or something... but the 2nd driver just ran right over her little legs...

I'm one of those people wary to help, but I hover. I hover and watch... and that's just for potentially lost children. If a kid was hit by something, I wouldn't have to think. I'd just do. If someone came to yell at me for helping I'd probably be too shocked by the half-dead hit-and-run child victim to notice.
