I'm having an early Gtt this week at 18 weeks, due to having undiagnosed gestational diabetes in my last pregnancy .. Which I only became aware of in my babys autopsy.
I'm worried I have it in this pregnancy after getting bsl's all over the place up to 11.6 and 5 9 fasting.
I've been told to carb load by my dr so the results are accurate .. I can't remember what I did last time but the dr said not carb loading my have lead to the false negative. All the research i have found online suggests carb loading has the opposite effect and preparares your body for the high glucose load to stop false positives, so if I want to fail I'd be better to not carb load?
I know I shouldn't try and skew the results but I'd much rather be diagnosed falsely positive and get the extra help, and monitoring I need rather that have another false negative and another baby die because of it .
Anyone know any more about This?
