Re cashed up bogans, I remember a blog a few months back about handbags. There was an expensive brand-name handbag that had no logo on it. And a slightly less expensive brand-name handbag (Luis Vuiton, sp, I think) covered in the very obvious "I am a brand name bag" and it was talking about how bogans will take that one every time - SO true!

I agree with Sassy re the OTT nails etc. I guess some see the over-the-top nails and hair as being 'girly' but I find them to look just bogan. Not to mention, how the heck do you get anything done?

And agree with I think Sassy's original post on bogans: will have the best of the best of everything - car, furniture, tv - but ALL on high purchase so don't actually own anything hahaha. I guess trying to prove they have some kind of status but epic fail.

My mums friend is a bogan. She has the nails, frangipani stickers in her car and two rings on every finger  she is lovely though and doesn't speak bogany but in my eyes she is definitely a bogan!

I love in a big bogan town too - we're full of them here.

I saw a fight over a car park the other day. Two couples screaming at each other - though it was mostly the females doing it - about how one deserved the park more than the other.

It's not the car park was full either - there were plenty a few metres away... lol.

Like I said, I think everyone has a bit of bogan in them - I wear thongs when I go to pick DD up from the bus stop, I had DD at 19 (young parenthood seems to be something bogans do), etc etc.

I once heard coffee tables were bogan though. lol. Wtf? I don't have one, but I have no idea why someone would consider a coffee table to be bogan...

I agree about frangipani stickers on your car but a coffee table? I thought most people had a coffee table!

I think bogans are the kind of people who need to have the loudest opinion on everything, think it is necessary to tell other people (sometimes even strangers ) just how much money/stuff they've got, and are unable or unwilling to accept that there is a chance other people do not envy them.

Often they are also easily swayed by the opinions of other, louder bogans, and will fight for a cause they probably don't even understand, so their arguments come out sounding a bit juvenile and jaded.

That's my definition of a bogan anyway!

Once we almost ended up living on Bogan Street - true story! For another day though :P

    Think I should get one

I do have a friend who is a MAJOR bogan - she honestly has the nicest things, gadgets, phone, handbags, clothes, foxtel.. she puts it all on credit and then defaults on the payments! It's the strangest thing I've ever known... then she complains she's broke but will blow all of her pay on clothes/hair/make up and other unecessary cr@p. She doesn't look after any of her things either. Maybe she should just give it all to me, I'll look after it

I had to laugh at the 'bub' thing, that's all my ex called me for 4 years, it was like I didn't have a name. He's the biggest bogan I've ever met (and a cheating lying scumbag) so I cringe when I hear a guy call anybody bub haha
