Yep, DD was born in water 3mths ago (today!) at the family birth centre. I loved my water birth, obviously the pain was not fun but it was such a calm and positive experience, we will have no hesitation going back there for another water birth for the next bubs.

Can't speak highly enough of the midwives too

I have always wanted a water birth but sadly both hospitals I have given birth in so far dot do it. Thankfully this time I am going through the Birth Centre at the public hospital and they do offer it so I am *hoping* I can finally get to experience it.

I was talking to my mum about it and she said she knows a lot of women who have had their heart set on a water birth but when the time came they freaked out and couldn't do it. Something to do with the thought of the baby being born into water... She said from what they have said its something that they just can't explain until it happens.

So with that in mind, I am hoping to have one BUT if it doesn't happen then that's ok.

If I had my choice of my dream birth it would be a water birth in a birth centre with little intervention.

Albany Regional are currently retraining to offer water births in the new hospital. Currently you arent 'allowed' to birth in the water, but it does happen 'accidentally'
