I think i saw the consultant because once my appt was over he stuck a sticker on it which said " this patient is to be seen by the consultant only" So i think he was just the consultant? xx

I just had a baby at Logan and even the very pro vaginal birth doctor there did extra scans and stuff because he was worried I was young and could cause slight damage to my hips with a big baby.

So I'm surprised and annoyed that one of them is so against you having one!

There was so many csections when I was there so the hospital is clearly not against it. You need to speak to someone and tell them you refuse to see the same doctor as you are concerned with their opinion on a matter that is obviously not something he is very knowledgable on. You cannot be forced to see someone when you have other doctors available.

I'll try and come back with more advice later!
    Hi feeling lucky,
I am 30 weeks today. I definitely will be seeing another doctor or consult if this one tries to talk me out of it again. I know my body more than he does, and have lived with condition for 15 years. It hurts to have intercourse let alone push a baby out so i am just praying on my lucky stars he is in a good mood, and can actually give me a date. I got no sleep last night, between braxton hicks, leg cramps and nausea, plus constantly thinking about this afternoon, i think i will burst into tears when i am in there! LOL! xx

If he won't give you a c-section, take it further. If you have to go above him DO IT. I was told I'd have to "fight" for my c-section.

Oh i most definitely will take it further if he refuses it! I truly believe every mother has the right to CHOOSE how she wants to birth her baby. I hate that there are doctors that try and bully you into something you dont want, with or without a medical reason.

May i ask if you ended up having the C section? Or did the doc refuse you? xx

Having a m/c so didn't need to worry. But I wouldn't have stopped till I was accepted mine is for medical reasons too so I fully understand.

    Hi

I have had a different condition in the virgina to do with the muscles on the entrance, I was in a lot of pain with this and it was really painful making love with my husband (so I totally feel your pain). I went to two specialists a gyno and a special "physio therapist" that deals with virginal problems. The specialist gave me anti-depressants that helped with relaxing the muscles (which you probably can not take while pregnant) and the physio gave me exercises to do, which was very helpful and improved my condition. The specialists were at Pindara Hospital on the Gold Coast. I know this is a bit different from the condition you have but thought that you might appreciate the information

Thanks so much sharonski. I have been on anti depressants also before falling pregnant. These anti's blocked the nervs in my bladder, but after being on them for a while i noticed there wasn't really much of a difference, so stopped. But considering most of the meds i can take for IC are not safe during pregnancy, i have to ride it out at the moment and continue you just relieve the pain with natural remedies. The bath has been my bestfriend during this trimester, but im not too sure how long i will last if the pain keeps on getting worse. I am seeing my normal GP after this appt today so will talk to him more about what he can put me on, if anything!

Thanks so much for your information, very much appreciated. xx

Its your body and your baby you should be the one to choose what you want and you feel right about doing.
