    Default Implanon

I need to get an implanon inserted and my doctor advised me it is best to do it on day 3 of my cycle.

As it turned out day 3 fell on a weekend when of cause he wasn't there!

Just wondering if anybody had it put in at any other time? I really didn't think it would matter when it was done It's going to be pretty hard if my cycles keep happening when he isn't available to do it!

I personally wouldnt get the implanon again. It was the worst bc ever. Every month feels like you might be pregnant because it gives you all the symptomes and when you get it in you might bleed for 3 months straight. Thats what happened to me! Plus here is a thing in the same place as your post about people who had it and have had some pretty bad experiences and also after you get it you might not have a sex drive at all. Very common side effect.

i got it put in 6-7 weeks after DS ws born and AF hadnt returned. doc just said not to rely on it for a week(eh use con.dom). since then (8 months or so) i have had 3 or 4 AF but its more like spotting, just when i wipe, dont need a pad or anything for 2-5 days.

I had it put in half way through my cycle. I had to abstain from s3x for 2 weeks to rule out pregnancy) and then once it was in use another form of contraception (ie con.doms) or go without s3x for the first week.

I didn't have any issues with it, never had any spotting/bleeding, no weight gain, no erratic moods (if anything it actually helped stabilize my moods). The only reason I had it out was because we decided to ttc number 3.

I think Implanons are great. I've had three of them. But they certainly arent for everyone. You dont know until you try.

I was told to have it inserted on day 1 of cycle each time (ie first day of AF).

It is not recommended to be inserted any earlier than 6 weeks after bubs is born if baby is breastfed as their liver is too immature to handle the progesterone levels.

I've had it before and it was great!

I ended up getting one put in at the start of November and hate the damn thing!! I haven't stopped bleeding... Pretty sure it will be coming out very soon!!!

I got mine put in 3 days after DD was born. It is the 4th time i have had it and they have never asked me that.

I think its great. I found that my body reacted to it the same way as it did to depo - maybe if you havent had it before try that first to see how you react cos some people do get yuck symptoms....
