All but 3 cheats I know don't need the money. One woman is collecting over $600 a fortnight for SPP then gets FTB A and B while her partner earns $1100 a week.

What if he has a lot of debt? My DP earns $1000 a week, after tax, but has to pay $600 in debt a week... centerlink doesn't take that into account.

I hear of plenty of tax cheats scamming the system to avoid paying tax and child support and did have one friend claiming carers pension yet leaving her mentally disabled BIL in a caravan out the back thankfully it wasn't for long but I don't worry myself with other people's business.

It does get annoying for the very vast majority of people who need these payments who are constantly being cut because of the fraud etc.

My husband & I have no income this week as i had to stop work & he has been looking for ages but we don't even get much help. I got $100 on Friday for a parenting payment and they have failed to help much in the past. I put my son in one day care a week at kindy & my DD goes 2 days and flat out affording it. It sh1ts me how these people manage to get money out of them and use it for luxuries such as cars which we can't even get a loan for as we don't earn enough and driving an old bomb & they can pay $50 in rent while I struggle to pay $360. It Sux.

I know of someone who cheated them, claiming single parent after she moved in with her partner and she got found out and had a lot of money to repay them.

You guys have all freaked me out!

People would think I'm a cheat cause I manage my money really well and have paid off a large amount of debt in a small preiod of time.

I'm also now saving to take my son to France to meet family, well I'm not saving yet, but as of next month I'll have +ive balance in my account WOOT.

If is possible to save money while on centrelink for some people. And there are 5 assesment criteria to relationships too, so a boyfriend is not always a partner and even centrelink recognise that. (I know- I just called to make sure cause you all freaked me out lol)

That's why I think it's best unless we know it 100% for a fact it's best to mind our own business. The OP mentioned she's dobbed this person in 7 times with no luck, I think it's time to let it go!

People say and do some funny things, it doesn't always make them a fraudulent cheat.

And I'd never think you're cheating the system because you're not living in a homeless shelter lol, most people with an ounce of commonsense wouldn't think that

This really annoys me! I have panic dissorder I've had since I was 14 and have had a really hard time with it, I couldn't claim YA when I was younger because my parents earnt too much, so I've worked hard and have now been working full time for 5 years I have also studied and payed back my hecs, my taxes that I work very hard for go to these cheats! I have no problem with legit people on c-link but cheats..... I just hope the karma bus hits them hard!

I totally agree with what Benji is saying unless your 100% sure that someone is doing the wrong thing then it's best to stay out of it but in my case i know for a fact that this person is well and truly taking full advantage of the system and one day she will get caught. I do guess it is time for me to let it go and i will when she stops doing it.

If centerlink would do their jobs properly and take the reports that they get serious then these people wouldn't get away with stealing thousands of dollars from the government.

I know ppl that do it and have doing it for years. They have been dobbed in but continue to get away with it! It makes me so mad as they sit around doing nothing all day yet we have to watch every little cent we have because we are doing the right thing!

They get child care for next to nothing yet ppl that do the right thing pay a fortune!

Grrrr it makes me so mad!
