What about buying some second hand things for people? Are there any nice antique or vintage shops near you? Antique vases, jewelry, lovely silver antique platters, are there some people you could buy things like that for?

AFM, MIL brought me round some elastic, so i can finish DS's pants tonight! They are made from a second hand men's tshirt and they are SUPER CUTE! My first sewing project, i'm a bit chuffed with myself

I havent bought anything brand new this month so far yet. On thursday i will though as i get my baked and delicious magazine but other than that it will be relatively easy. Today we bought 2 VHS tapes from an op shop and coop loves them. Cant go wrong for 50 cents each and they will be used until they literally die if they ever do die.

Thanks for the idea, I forgot I could buy second hand. Op shops aren't great where I live but I'll be checking them out.

how are we travelling, folks? Any confessions? i nearly bought a new sunhat for DS today just cuz it was cute and on sale. I thought 'oh you can ever have too many sunhats' but he already has 3- one for daycare, one for home and one spare, that's plenty!

I've been good. Was so tempted at the shops today though, with all the cute baby clothes on sale at target. He really doesn't need more clothes and everyone buys him things too. Thinking about checking out some op shops this weekend for books and toys. And instead of buying new clothes I'm going to work on losing weight to get into my pre pregnancy clothes.

goodness this is much harder than i was expecting! Just goes to show how much mindless spending i do, and i think i'm not nearly as bad as some!

On a happy note, though, i have a lot more money in my account than usual, even though i had a fairly extravagant (for me) friday night which included dinner out, ticket to a show, half a bottle of champagne, a couple of cocktails and a taxi home. Most fortnights that would have wiped me out but this f/n i still have plenty of cash

I caved to DP about a b'day present, he was insistent that we couldn't buy second hand for a 2nd b'day present for our friend's DS. I said if he really wanted to buy him something new he could pay for it.

    How's everyone else been going??

Unfortunately both my 8yo and I needed a new hat each. But other than that no new items for us!
