    #1 planned
#2 surprise (as a result of listening to the doctor re contraception)
#3 surprise (tried a new contraception, likely user error)
#4 surprise (but I suspect a deliberate action on my husbands part)
    #5 surprise
    #6 planned
#7 surprise (thought I was infertile at this point)

so I answered surprise in your poll since more were surprise than planned.

Ds was planned but a suprise.
we hadnt been using any contraception for 2 years and i had been to the doctor in July to try to find out why (last 12 months AF had gone haywire - dec, feb, may). i had an US that said i had a flatened polup (sp?) and needed to see a gyno, this wasnt going tohappen for about 4 months and i was fairly upset at the thought of not being able to have kids.
a few weeks after the US i was feeling really sick and someone at work asked if i was pregnant which made me think 'maybe' so i took a preg test and it was postitive.
turns out i was just pregnant when i had the US.
pity MIL tells people it wasnt planned at all....

#1 - planned but unexpected as we thought we'd have to save up for a year or so and do fert treatment, in the meantime we tried our luck and ta-da!
