There is a new estate on lord st on the way to whiteman park, it's called St lenards there is a terrific playground and NO maggies, there is not alot of housing there yet mostly just the display village. Pretty sure Ellenbrook is Maggie free too, I'm in Ellenbrook and go walking daily and have not been attacked yet.

not many magpies up the hill (toodyay rd), such as noble falls? not so much a park but a playground and really lovely bush tracks around the bush/waterfall
Thanks ladies
Looks like no park tomorrow now anyway, the forecast says rain....might be an indoor playcentre nowI'll Definatly keep the suggestions in mind for the next sunny day though!

I saw this thread as I'm the hill. LOL. I go to Noble falls every couple of weeks, and John Forrest as well for a bit of a walk - never seen maggies round there.
We also went to Woodbridge park last week (were looking at cars - threw the frisbee round, the kids played on the playground etc - no maggies again!

John Forrest is one of my favourite places in Perth. My parents never had a great deal of money when I was very young, so an afternoon picnic with the family at John Forrest was a real treat. This was back when it was very much unimproved. No paved carparks, bollards, etc.
I'll never go again, though. I went there when I was about 17, and I couldn't believe how much it had changed. Don't get me wrong - it needed all of the various improvements and facilities to cope with the amount of visitors and to keep people from tearing the bushland up. But I had (and have) so many brilliant memories of that place, and I'd prefer to remember it as it was rather than as it is.
Still a great place, of course. It's not necessarily worse than it was back in the early 1980s, it's just different.
