    Question predinisone/prednisolone and IVF

Hiya, hoping someone on here can help. I take prednisolone on and off for allergies and so usually have a decent stash. Sometimes I have been taking them, coincidentally, for part of a cycle and sometimes not - it's all been a bit random. I have actually just finished a course (a week or so ago). IVF wise, I am now on day 3 of jabbing for my antagonist cycle.

So, my question is, what dosage do you normally take for IVF and when do you start? Do you start on the first day of your cycle or after EPU or after ET? Is it worth starting now? I have unexplained infertility - recurrent implantation failure - so I figure anything is worth a try. I am taking low dose aspirin every day this time around.

    Hi Riversong,
When I take Prednisolone for ivf I start on day 6 of my stims, (was just re-given that info today ) If you get a BFP you will be advised to keep taking it until about 12 weeks. If it's a bfn I start weaning of them the next day. (2 tabs for 3 days, 1 tab for 3 days then none, as I'm sure you are aware if you take them for allergies.) My dose is 3x5mg tabs each morning.
    I hope that helps.

Thanks so much for the info lilybaby and smileygirl. Seems like it varies quite a bit. I don't want to take too much as it makes me a bit . My tablets are 25mg each so I might try half. Lily, when you say day 6 of stims (please excuse my ignorance), does that mean day 6 of injections which would be cycle day 7 or is it something different? I don't really know much about long down reg cycles? Thanks again for your responses

Hi Riversong, yes you are right , its the 6th day of injecting stims and cycle day 7 when I start. I totally agree with the , I go crazy when I'm on it as well, and I'm only on a low dose. I hate the bloating too, but hey if it helps us get our babies it is sooooo worth it.

    Hi
This thread is great as I will be taking prednisolone for my next transfer after mc at 7 1/2 weeks recently. I have a script from FS in Qld who uses it routinely. Just wondering what antibiotic you were on Luckychance.
