Unhappy How do you deal with period pain?

I've started a new pill, I'm due next week but already suffering period pain. I'm taking Naprogesic with not that much success. Is there anything else I can do or take?
What helps you at that dreadful time of month?

I'm on the pill now as well and find that really helps, but I used to take nurofen plus!

I get awful period pain, and I'll either hop in a HOT shower (and lie down so its on my lower back), or run a really warm bath, and take some panadiene while I'm in there, so by the time I get out the panadiene has kicked in

I take nurofen and voltaran tablets, they help ease the cramps.
    And a hot water bottle.
