    Default Biting...

Tantrums are fantastic arnt they??? Well my DD is the princess of them and has begun throwing whoppers. However, when she is in the middle of a full blown, out of control screaming fit, she starts biting herself on her arm... I havent heard of this before.
    i have two questions:
Has anybody else experianced this and if so how can you tell a 19 month old in a fit that she shouldnt do it
This is just my overactive brain going crazy - but - could this be a very early sign of self harm in the future?

My DS 9 was really shocking when it came to tantrums. He would hit himself, headbutt walls, pull his hair and yes bite himself.I found it was because he was so frustrated that he couldnt tell me what he wanted or needed that he just took it out on himself,or me if i tried to intervene. He grew out of it thank goodness as soon as he started talking.I dont think you should worry about DD growing up to be a self-harmer.Usually when people self harm its from something traumatic happening in their life.As a child its usually just frustration.
