    Thank you lovely ladies X
your kind thoughts & best wishes warmed my heart
We are coping better with our very disappointing journey...the wonderful food is a big help. I have had Kingclip fish for my last 2 dinners!!
We are meeting up with Missleo & her DH for 2 days. Both DH's want to swim with sharks( in a cage) for some crazy reason. Meeting Missleo has also made our holiday a special time.
Nicole I am so happy at least 1 of us Perth girls had a BFP. So happy for you.
we may come back 1 more time... See what happens.
My donor was E313 from EDSA. She is in her twenties and this was her third donation. 1 pregnancy resulted from her donations.
We will contact EDSA this week & state our disappointment
    Not much can be done.
My BT is on 6th March and we fly home on the 9th... Need baskets of Saffaland Magic
thank you all again for your support X

    Hi Abundance,
We are using DR W at CFC. So far the email communication between us, the Doctor and his co-ordinator has been great. So, we are more than happy to be using them.
As for donor agencies....my best advice is check costs. I was shocked and really disappointed to find out htat the agency I was using as they had a donor I really really liked, was so so so so expensive. I didn't know until we were approved to have her and the invoice cam in. There were travelling costs which we expected for her, but there was then a final payment to be made prior to her going to pick-up and it was the same as the initial deposit. The deposit amount was over the FULL price of EDSA. So, we have chosen a donor through EDSA, based in CT and we are waiting on confirmation of her availability. It should be June/July. She was just done a cycle.
I wish we could share info on which donors have been successful and which ones haven't but I guess every cycle is different.
All in all, it is such an emotional and financial roller coaster but if it works, wow, yippppeeeee!!!! For us, well, it is the last resort.

Jennileee.....It does only take one hun. I had a 3 day fresh transfer from donor here and I got to 12 weeks and m/c unfortunately but it happens and many people have pregnancies that go on to produce beautiful healthy bubs from embies that people are not confident about so you relax, don't stress (adrenaline) and don't over do it. Will be thinking of you over the next couple of weeks. Lots of

Hi to all the lovely ladies on this thread, especially Laned for starting it.
I've been reading this thread with interest for the past three months as my DH and I ride the roller coaster of failed IVF cycles. We're going to give it a couple more tries before going to our plan B - which is ED in South Africa later this year.
So I just wanted to log in and say how heartening and inspiring it is to hear your stories.
Reading about your experiences, some more successful than others, gives me hope that our dream of starting a family can have a happy ending.
It is also terrific to glean the information you are sharing, so we will be able to be as informed as possible and hopefully be able to make the process as smooth as it can be.
Jennilee - I'm really sorry to hear of your disapointment with the ET, but try to remember, as the others have also been saying, lots of beautiful babies have eventuated from such circumstances. Good luck.
I will continue to read your stories with interest and keep my fingers crossed for those who have babies in their bellies and those who are about to trek to SA to realise their dream.
    Best wishes to all

    Hi Ladies,
I hope you all had a great weekend.
SVD, yeah I'm now with a great FS so I've been able to get nearly everything done with him. I agree, its so much easier if you have a GP or FS that can help.
Welcome to all the new ladies, I'm also new so we can all share our journeys together.
Jennilee, I still have great hopes for your success because the donor is a young healthy woman so you still have a high chance of success.
I am also from Perth so hello to my fellow Perth gals. I am planning on going to SA in May/June, do they have the same seasons as us?
    Thanks ladies,
    Cartia

Has anyone had Dr Gavin Sacks assist them with this in Sydney as I'm too scared to ask him as when I mentioned it to him previously he said not to got to SA. He's an amazing FS and I would love to continue working with him so would love to know if anyone else has gone down this path with him. Also thanks for my PM message. Arrived in my email so not sure how to respond.

    Hi Everyone,

Abundance1- I am curious as to why your specialist advised you not to go to SA! Did he give you a reason?

Jennilee - remember the eggs are young it makes such a difference.

A question for anyone who has been to CT. If you don't get a decent retrieval from your donor and wish to use the back up supply, how does the back up egg bank work? Where do they source these eggs? Are they donated specifically for the bank at the clinic or just not required from someones cycle? Or do they take a percentage of eggs from donors' cycles?

I was under the understanding that frozen egg technology was not as advanced as frozen embryo technology therefore the chances of thawing an unfertilized egg then fertilizing it with you partner's sperm and having a successful outcome was slim

    Have a great day everyone,

    January

    Hi Abundance,

Sorry, I am not familiar with your FS. I am using the services of 2 GPs. I find that to be working really well. I think (not totally sure) that things like pessaries are only available through Fertility clinics but I have my scripts for estrodials etc from my GP so they are all ready to go. Will have to wait and see what DR W at CFC requires.
I hate the SA time differences!!!! Totally sux waiting for emails! It's like eat chocolate, check inbox, make a cuppa, check inbox, have a bath, check inbox!
Feels like it will never come together but time will go quickly no doubt.

    Hi ladies

DJ - I used to email CFC in the morning from home email address go to work couldnt check gmail from work and then by evening the email would be sitting there for me. I have been really impressed with their turnaround so far.

I think when our time comes I will either try him and see if he will prescribe meds otherwise good IVF friend over here has almost full syranal she purchased 1 week ago with 1 sniff gone I can use that and can buy off her or will see if FS will write out other meds for me. I already have heaps of progynova from other cycles (FETs) I can use.

January not too sure on how the egg bank works - I think if the donor doesnt produce any eggs there is a frozen bank you can utilise within a day or so of the collection not any more. This doesnt apply if there is low fertilisation or low embryo growth.

We have decided the repeat cycle we are doing at moment, review appointment with different FS specialist and clinic probably Monash in Melbourne and then Capetown in June probably.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

WJ - not long to go at all - bet you are excited.

    Hi to everyone else.

Midnite....Yes, I agree, the email turnaround time is great. So, far so good! As for meds, yep, I have plenty of Progynova from previous cycles. I have DHEA left over as well which I will never use but none of my friends are doing IVF and all think I am mad!!!!!! They are supportive and understanding having said that.

Jennileee...How are ya doing? Thinking of you
