    Hi ladies

Got the call from the clinic this morning - of 20 retrieved 19 were injected (ICSI) and 16 have fertilised overnight. Certainly a weight off my mind!!! Fingers crossed we still have some decent numbers when they call again on Tuesday. Will let you know how we go.

Donna I honestly can't recommend the area of Green Point round the V&A Waterfront highly enough. It's safe and there are a couple of big shopping centres within a 10 minutes walk - the V&A (very touristy but hundreds of shops and restaurants) and Cape Quarter (amazing cafes and trendy shops). There are a bunch of restaurants on every street and if you get a high apartment (above say 5th floor...) you have amazing water & skyline views. We have a self catering apartment at the top of Upper Portswood Road if you look on a map. Because it's a tourist area it's very safe with police and security guards everywhere and there are no street hawkers hassling you. It's a very easy 15 minute drive to the clinic.

Having said all that I can't remember which of the ladies stayed there but we stopped and checked out The Hippo and it looks amazing!! We've decided to do our last 2 nights in CT there instead of staying in Camps Bay.

Nicole I feel good things for you and I still have everything frantically crossed. Big load of babydust to you Can't wait to hear your update after the BT.

    Default We made it!

Hello ladiesWe arrived in CT around 1pm! Yey we are here!!!Nicole I bet you are glad to be home. We have left our golden retriever at home & miss him already. So i know how it feels to miss your furry friend How was the overall experience? Any little tips for the transfer day? Fingers crossed that you have good news on Thursday. Everyone here will be thinking of you x It's a real shame we missed each other by a couple of days. Now it's our turn to start the CFC visits. Good luck. It's so hard to wait....hang in there girl. Missleo- We are here! We are staying out near Steenberg golf estate. It's about 15/20 mins from town, but it's peaceful. How is everything going? Have had everything crossed for you both. See you soon. When suits you? Our first meeting is Tuesday 19th. Wow what a long day/s it has been traveling. We flew with SA Airlines & found it to be good. We slept for a few hours. The hard part was the change over in Joburg. I now remember someone saying don't book the Joburg to CT with SA airlines (Qantas partner) using frequent flyer points. There are a lot of other SA Airline flights that we should of paid for and not had to wait around 6 hours for he frequent flyer flight. Anyway, all good we are here. Now time to catch up on some zzzz. Oh by the way, the weather today was really hot! We swam & chilled out this afternoon

MissLeo - Fantastic result. I look forward to reading your updates. I stayed at the Hippo and it was great. The girls there can't help you enough.

    Hi ladies

Big congrats missleo awesome egg numbers and glad you arrived safely there jennilee.

DJ - we are also hoping to be there June or August. The airfares seem quite reasonable then.

We are currently going through maybe last IVF cycle with current FS before definitely making the plunge.

Nicole thinking about you and hoping for good results. When were you doing your BT?

Oh my goodness it's all happening!!!

Nicole - sooo hoping you get the best news ever this week

Jennilee and Missleo - watching from afar your progress and praying that all goes well for you both

AFM - July seems like a million years away! DH and I went to a fostering information session last week and are both keen to foster in the future. It was heart wrenching listening to all the tragic stories. DH is wanting to get the ball rolling on this as well which is a little overwhelming! I love it that he is so keen to be a parent but I just want to focus on one thing at a time. Can't throw myself into the fostering thing until I have exhausted donor egg options.

    Bye for now

    Default Wow so much activity!

    Hi all,

All this activity is fantastic, to share your journeys with us. Good luck to everyone in SA at the moment. Well we have selected our second donor angel and waiting on test results.. Fingers crossed this time all will be good.

I have been checking flights for end of March, yikes fares are expensive and we might have to use emirates adding extra hours due to limited availability on QF/SAA. Nothing is easy when you are on this road.

we are sitting here watching a foxtel special on SA..taking that as a sign!

Good luck Nicole, fingers and toes are crossed for you x.

    Cheers for now x

Nicole - welcome home Hun. Here's hoping like crazy that you have a little stowaway Springbok on board. Positive vibes coming your way this week.

Misleo - absolutely fantastic feet rate. May you get beautiful strong little embies. Grow embies grow.

Jennilee - as with Misleo, I wish you the very best and loads of baby dust.

SS - wow only 7 weeks to go. That is awesome Hun. Hope you are feeling well. Xx

Midnight - for your upcoming cycle.

January - I know it seems as though July is a long way off, but believe me it will be here before you know it. We decided to proceed with an Aug cycle in May last year and it was just a whirlwind with time flying. Hang in there Hun.

Makaba - sounds like all proceeding well for you. Flights are expensive (unfortunately). Good luck with sorting out the travel plans.

    To everyone else.

AFM - all going really well thank goodness and we have officially made it to the third trimester. I still feel like pinching myself every day. I still can't believe I am going to be a mum. I am so grateful. May those of you following through experience the same good fortune. Xx

Congratulations Missleo what a great start to your egg safari

Jennilee hope you appointment goes well today and glad you arrived safe - are you having any jet lag with the time difference?

We have now got confirmation of our donors suitability - good to go- so we are to have our 1st appointment on the 12th March so busy doing the booking of flights etc We were thinking we would do a 3 day safari before the 12th.

Medfem has me on Progynova from day 2 but no ovulation suppressants which I was unsure about as I had heard of others taking it. Does it matter if you ovulate in an Egg donor cycle?

Also did others get sick leave from work for the time away or annual leave or both?

sorry lots of questions but if you have a day 5 transfer how many days later would you do the blood pregnancy test?

    many thanks
