    Hi lovely ladies!

Ianed - so glad to hear that everything is going well for you. Do you have a date for your 12 week scan?

Midnite - sorry to hear that you didn't end up getting the property you were after - I believe that everything happens for a reason though so I am sure that something even more perfect will come up for you around the corner! How are you going with your donor search? Re your question on egg numbers - we got 14 eggs, 10 fertilised, 3 still ok on day 3 and then 2 blasts on day 5 (which both took as I am now pregnant with twins). A lot of it unfortunately really is down to luck!

Summershine - great to hear from you and so glad that everything is going so well. Must feel great to have that all important 12 week scan behind you!

WJ - 18 weeks wow! How many weeks will you be when you finish up with work? I have heard with twins they recommend that you don't work past 28 weeks which means I would have to finish up mid March (which doesn't seem all that far away!) How are you feeling? Did you suffer much from MS? I am feeling pretty queasy but I guess at least I know something is still going on in there!

Helen - thanks for popping on to pass on your congrats hun. You must be counting down the days till you can get started on your drug regime?

AFM - not much to report - we have another scan on Wed which I'm hoping will show that everything is still ok. Feeling pretty tired and sick but hoping that's a good sign! Will be 7 weeks on Wed and so glad that my OB has agreed to scan me weekly (like you Ianed - will take any reassurance that's on offer!).

    to everyone else!

    Jed

We are using Dr Wiswedeland and have chosen to use EDSA for our donor, all has gone so smoothly so far...... the most nerve raking bit was paying the money into a SA bank account lol hoping I hadnt been had !

Nicole - Congratultions for making this step of using donor eggs and heading over to Cape Town. You will have such a marvellous time over there. Think of it as a 'working' holiday. There is so much to do and see. Most of the ladies come back pregnant first time. In my case I had a chemical so will need (more immune meds) and come back for round two. I'm thinking of going in February too 2013 too!

    Any questions please ask away!

Hey ladies, sorry for my absence, been busy and exhausted as you would all understand.

Nicole - a massive welcome to you and congratulations for taking the leap of faith. As Helen said you will love Cape Town and having met Dr Wisewedel (even though we didn't cycle through CFC). I cannot sing his praises enough and you will not be disappointed. I am so excited for you. They have wonderful success rates. Furthermore, you have come to the right place these wonderful women have been my rock of understanding, empathy and information.

Jed - how you and the little belly beans? Still so excited for you hope some of your sickness is settling. How did your scan go today? I must say whilst a double edged sword the weekly scans although prior to are terrifying they are extremely reassuring knowing all is well.

Helen - Great to see you've made a date. Can't wait to enjoy your journey with you. This is it Hun.

AFM - thank the fertility gods we had our 10w2d scan today and the feisty little Springbok was as happy as ever. Very hyperactive to the point it was difficult for the FS to get a good view for a while. We saw s/he rub their eyes and coincidently when I was explaining to the relieving/locum specialist that we call the bub A Springbok at that time bub nodded its head, how hilarious. My husband was so excited that he wouldn't let me have the scan print out and took it to work. Thankfully no fainting from the poor lad this week. We have decided to leave the dent in the gyprock wall where he fainted last (due to stressing about the scan) as a momento for our little one. Good story to tell 'daddy was so worried he fell off the toilet bruised his knees and dented the wall).

Anyway feeling so very blessed today. Much love to all xxx

Hey Nicole congratluations for making the decision to go to SA. Claremont is one of the better areas in Cape Town. I didn't stay there so I don't know what's around in terms of amenities etc but you are nice and close to the clinic. I stayed at the Hippo Boutique Hotel just off Kloof St (near the city). I cannot recommend this area and hotel enough for safety, comfort and amenities. The staff that run it could not be more helpful and downstairs there are literally five or six restaurants and a shopping centre, bakery, and chemist just down the road. While I was in Cape I checked out all area Sea Point, Green Point, Camps Bay etc and I would not choose to stay anywhere else than the Hippo (plus I love the name).
I would also definitely hire a car and we just used out Aussie licence. We didn't hire a car to begin with and we were late for our first appointment with the FS as the stupid taxi driver didn't know how to get to the clinic. In the end I had to take the map book off him and direct him. So yes hire a car!

Laned you make me laugh. I think you definitely have to keep the dent in the wall, that's what gives a house it's memories. How are you feeling any morning sickness? I'm so glad all went wellfor your scan.

Helen - Feb is not that far away. I think everyone on this thread will have fingers, toes and all other bodies parts crossed for you.

Jed - That's good getting a weekly scan it really puts your mind at ease. I have joked with DH that I would like to buy an ultrasound machine. I'd be on that thing 24/7.

AFM - Morning sickness has subsided and I can go back to eating normally and healthy. For awhile there it was matter of eating what I could face which was all crazy things. I haven't eaten chicken for about six years and all I was craving was a KFC chicken fillet burger what the? I didn't give in and have one but I seriously really really wanted that burger. My SIL gave me some maternity pants, oh the comfort.

    Take care ladies
    xx

    Hi girls

nicole - car hire is the way to go really cheap. An Aussie license is fine, but they will only accept the primary driver with the credit card. So whoever intends on doing the driving must have the licence, pass port and credit card.

Summershine - believe it or not have been fine until this week and now a bit nauseated of course we have to do things differently in this household. Glad to hear yours is settling. How bizarre with the fillet burger craving although a very common one so I've been told. My cravings have been for oranges, orange juice, wheat bix and caramel slice. I didn't even like caramel before getting pregnant.

Hope everyone else is well. X

    Hey Girls,

hope your are all well. I have a big shout out to anyone planning on going to Cape Town in January 2013.

I know an awesome woman from Brissy who has been to Saffaland for an ED process previously and is planning on going on her own and would love some company.

If anyone is out there is thinking of going then please let me know.

I can link you both up through bub hubs PM system. Xxx
