Helenmac, motherhood is wonderful I feel truly blessed everyday I look at him and it brings a tear to my eye. But you will be there soon enough, the docs will find and fix whatever is going wrong and the next cycle will be the one.

I saw the specialist and m entioned that I was on the lite n easy diet as I wanted to lose weight. I put on 10kgs when bub came home, I couldn't do anything but cuddle him and whatever I ate was one handed, chips chocolate biscuits, not healthy but he wouldn't let me put him down it was too distressing to hear him screaming. Anyhow, he told me to lose 10kgs and come back in 3 months time, I need to do some blood tests they will have markers as to whether I should expect pre eclampsia again. I think he will want to put me on medication before I do my cycle too but he said if the markers are ok I can start the cycle straight away and I had in mind to cycle in November anyway. So its a wait on see situation.

Summershine and WilsonJ, you are very welcome. I intended to help out and From what you have said I did, I am very happy to have helped.

    Hey Ladies
Summershine - Wow more fabulous news Congrats. Yes started Proganova on cd2. I have increased it to 8 mg as of last night. My lining is apparently as it should be.

Helenmac - wishing you the very best and a speedy recovery from the biopsy.

Wislon - be sure to rest up.

Jed - wow I bet u are getting excited too. In addition to other comments, our friend said a trip to Hermanes is worth it also Stellenbosch is just down the road, albeit drinking's out.

AFM - just about to go and pack. We have a car coming to pick us up at 4 am on Saturday and we are working tomorrow. So just want to organize things tonight. I have a whole lot of emotions running at the moment. Excitement, fear, hope and anxiety just to name a few and am a bit nervous about our stay in Joburg. That said, still not much contact from the clinic. The agency has been good with keeping me up to date.

Hi Wilson - how very sweet of you. Arrived last night. Pumped up full of adrenaline, oestrogen and prednisone. Hoping to jig medication taking times so I am not taking the Prednisone at night time (I usually have it in the morning, but am trying to accommodate for time change )

Many differences for those coming over. Tipping is customary so be sure to have some small change to attend to such.

Food appears to be remarkably cheap.

Hoping that there is Sunday trading.

Glad we decided to get on an earlier flight as clinic contacted me to say donor's EPU has been brought forward to Monday morning (tomorrow). Hoping like crazy that everything works out.

    Hi Laned,
Yes the medication times are difficult to get your head around, but no one wants to be taking pills in the middle of the night!! Food is cheap, can you cook for yourself where you are staying? Are you doing a little Safari? If so, go to Mosethla in Madikwe..they do weekends and it is a lovely camp with good game viewing. If your retrieval is tmrw then you may be sorted by the end of the week! HOW EXCITING!

    Update from WJ!
10 weeks 1st ob appointment, and all is well. Identical in size, and growing correctly....soooooo relieved! Starting to tell people now, as Dr said my odds of miscarriage has dropped to 2%. Wow! So excited now.
Hope you are all chugging along nicely. WJ

Woohoo WJ! fantastic news - am sure that was a huge relief for you! Now hopefully you can relax a bit and enjoy your pregnancy. hope you arent suffering too much with morning sickness or anything.

Ianed - have been thinking of you - how did egg collection go? Hope your donor produced lots of good eggs for you! I bet you are still pretty jet lagged!

Am really starting to panic now as only 2 1/2 weeka till we leave for SA. i am a bit worried that AF is going to be delayed due to stress and then i am not sure what would happen. oh well, will just hope that everything falls into place.

    Hey Girls

Sorry have been MIA have had limited Internet access over the past week having been on safari.

Wilson - we went on a safari at Pilanesburg. A safari park 2.5 hours north of Joburg.

Jed - not long for you now. Thanks for the warm wishes.

AFM - wow again another bit of a roller coaster ride for us. It started on Monday with our clinic appointment which appeared very disjointed and a bit all over the place. That said, local patients reassured although all seemed a tad chaotic it would all fall into place.

The donor had 13 eggs harvested, 7 fertilized and by today we were left with 2 blastocysts 1 of good quality and hatching the other of average quality and a morula that wasn't finished compacting. All in all I was a tad disappointed that's we didn't get any for the tank. My husband is frustrated with me and keeps saying we have 2 and that's better than none. Although very true, I had expected the use of a 22 y/o eggs would have resulted in a better numbers, which are comparative to my own previous efforts.

That said, I am hoping like crazy that one of them sticks, as I really don't know where to from here.

As for the visit, Joburg was a tad frightening at first, but I am feeling a lot more settled now. Shopping in Sandton is excellent and the Safari experience is something I will always hold dear.

Tips - Sth African SIMS are reasonable and easy to obtain, tipping is customary (10% for food bill, R2 or 5 for car guard). If you are requiring a fridge for meds be sure to advise hotel, we have had a few hassles with the Park Inn over it.

In closing, my husband nearly fainted yesterday when he hit a vessel whilst giving me my progesterone inject, was quite amusing.
