    Hi Everyone,

Huge Congrats WJ! Twins - how exciting!!! All the very best for the next 7 months or so - and try take it easy at work too (make good use of all those sick days you've saved up!)

Helen - have you got your blood test results back yet? Do you mind me asking what sort of tests your Dr requested as I also think I might have an implantation problem after having over 20 embryo's put back and only 2 every implanting (and one of those I miscarried!). I have been tested for NK cells (don't seem to be a problem) and also ANA (which is positive as I have Sjogren's syndrome) and APA (negative). But just wondering if there is something else that I can request before our cycle in Sept?

Ianed - Hope you are feeling better now - we have also just had a bout of the flu at my place and have had to take time off - tis the season I guess! When is your donor party? Must be soon?

All going ok my end - booked my flights last week (and nearly fainted at the cost - having to pay in NZD - it was't cheap!) but I am a bit anxious because I still haven't got a treatment plan even though my donor's blood test results were done the week before last. But I got frustrated as flights kept going up and up so I emailed the IVF coordinator and she told me that she had booked a lining scan at CFC for the 10th Sept so it would be ok if I booked my flights to arrive on the 9th and then I will stay until the 20th but my husband only had a week's leave so he will have to fly back on the 14th. So I will be there for a week on my own But I am a little anxious at booking flights on the coordinators say so rather than waiting for the official treatment plan. Oh well, hopefully it will all work out ok!

Update - got my treatment plan this morning so we are all set for 10 Sept for our first scan at CFC (fly out on 8th Sept) - Yay! Still 6 weeks away but am sure time will fly....

Just wondering if anyone has any accommodation recommendations? I'm not 100% sure yet but I think we are likely to stay in closer to town and then just catch a taxi to the clinic for transfer (I don't drive - my dh does but he is only staying CT for 4 days).

Thanks to you all for your words of congrats...it still doesnt seem quite real as I am feeling quite well, excluding rabid hunger and tiredness!! Jed 02 I would rec staying close to the clinic as the area is safe and nice, all the more if you are on your own. There are many little cottages around that are less expensive than hotels and you can cook your own food. Use Capestays website and there are many others. If you use crinone instead of needles, buy it inSA, as I just picked up 4 boxes and it cost $800!!! much cheaper there. bye, WJ

Hey Girls hope all is well.

Jed - much better thanks. Wow it will be here before you know it. Our egg safari party is this Saturday. So all very exciting. What day of your cycle will you be arriving?

i will be arriving on CD11. My Brisvegas FS is awesome and will do all the prep this end including scans and BTs. Much better than the Joburg clinic. I am still yet to hear anything from Medfem. Not very impressed with their engagement.

I emailed the contact nurse the other day to advise of a scheduled appointment with my Bris FS. I noted the purpose of such was to find out whether they needed me to get any scripts. My appointment has been and gone and I haven't even received a response. Still to date no treatment plan and no communication from Joburg specialist and all this is scheduled for 3 weeks time

    Hi Ladies,

I have my blood test results back except for 2 which will be another 2 weeks. I spoke to the lovely Dr. Matthias and he expained the blood tests were all clear except for 1 which is another factor that inhibits deep implantation and that could prevent propper development of the placenta. He wants me to have another endrometrium biopsy. This one I'll need to be under general and they'll look in with a microscope and see whats going on and scrape the lining. We talked briefly on different treatments but nothing set in stone yet until my biopsy is done.

Jed - SO exciting that you have booked your flights and have your treatment plan. It's not far away now!! I have no idea exactly what type of blood tests that I was tested for. I'd never heard of them before and to be honest I didn't take much notice what was written on the pathology request form. It was all letters and numbers that didn't make sense to me.

Laned - Hope you have a FAB time at the egg party on Saturday. Sound's like such a lovely idea. I hope you hear something soon from your clinic. It's so frustrating waiting and not knowing anything and makes it hard to plan. Fingers crossed they email you soon.

    Hi to everyone else

    Hi Girls

Thank you for your kind words and support.

Finally had some contact from the clinic. Notwithstanding it took to copy in our Agency contact to facilitate the said response (thanks Jenny). That said the clinic were going to instruct the donor to stop the OCP 2 days before me!!!! Very scary.

I am now awaiting further confirmation re the dates the donor is ceasing the pill and whether they want me to take an ovulation suppressant.

Can't say that I have a great deal of faith in the clinic as they are yet to prove themselves. It would be extremely disappointing if our cycles were not syncronsed due to a lack of communication. Hoping like crazy this all works out.

Helen - I am sorry that the results to date didn't come back clear. I do hope that now that you have some more answers that it is another step towards realising your dream.

Firstly again many thanks to Jenny.

Jodi - we are with Medfem in Joburg. Following intervention by our agent and an email sent by my husband, communication has taken a turn for the better and the clinic appear to be more responsive and have further clarified the donors OCP regime (thank goodness).

All that said, I feel extremely foolish but I forgot to take my pill this morning. Especially having been so worked up about being particular. I ended up taking it 9 hours late having been completely distracted by attending to breakfast for some guests who stayed over following our Egg Safari Party.

I went to pieces and my husband contacted my Brisbane FS, who reassured it should not have a negative affect.

I can't help but panick and am so angry with myself for being so forgetful and stupid at such an important time in our lives.

I hope my mistake doesn't stuff up my donor cycle.

I have let the SA clinic know of my mistake.

Im sure it will be absolutely fine, I read somewhere years ago that the hormones stay in your body for a little while so a 9hr delay shouldn't cause a problem, don't stress about it, stress is the last thing you need. X

Just dropped in to say good luck everyone. I am 45 just got back from SA am pregnant from my donor egg and my fertility specialist here is as excited as me. Still on the injections but graduate to pessaries next week! SA was such a lovely place to be while all this emotional stuff was going on with the drugs, waiting to hear how the donor was going, my embryo transfer....helps to look up and see some beautiful new sights to take your mind off it from time to time. All the best..
