Does anyone know where to get one these days? My impression was that they became unpopular due to the dangers of mercury in they broke. What does everyone else use if not a mercury therm?? Thanks very much for your help!

Are you using a thermometer with 2 decimal places?

I used to use a digital thermometer with .00 digital places as that gives acurat temps.

Your temp can change by .02 and a thermometer with 1 decimal place won't show that change.

You also need to take your temp ideally at the same time every morning. Other wise after 3 solid hours of sleep. You need to take your temp before getting out of bend and moving around as this won't give an accurate temp. It's your resting temp that you neeed. I used to set my alarm for 4am every morning and I'd take my temp and go back to sleep.

Also sign up to Fertility friedn so you can chart you temps. Alot of us BBT'ers use that site. it won't cost you anything unless yu want VIP extras.

    Good Luck.

Hey ladies, I'm subscribing again (after nearly 18 months away), and I have a question.
I had my first baby last year and didn't get AF back until my son was nearly one.
I'm on my 2nd AF atm, which was a bit disappointing as I was hoping to be utd without trying (as I'm sure we all do).
Anyhoo, been charting bbt again and something strange happened this cycle. I didn't get as high temps after O as previous cycles before baby, and AF was a day late and now bbt aren't dropping? On CD3 with temps still over cover line.
Will attempt to add chart to sig now so u can have a squiz.

Are you taking you temp at the same time every morning with out moving around?

Once you start a new cycle the cover line is no longer applicable. I wouldn't worry too much. You may find they will drop over the week leading p to O and then stay high again until AF or that BFP.

I sometimes found that they would drop over the week or two before O.

Your not sick? That can have an effect on temps too.

Nope, not sick, and temp dropped this morning.
Guess I was just extremely toasty in my bed the last few mornings.
