    Default Incessant screaming

For over an hour tonight DD has screamed almost non stop. The only time she stops is when she chokes and then she goes right back to screaming.

I have tried everything, I've stripped her off to see if there's any bites/bumps/bruises, felt her all over for sore spots and there's nothing!

I thought maybe she was cutting another tooth, so I rubbed bonjela over her gums, gave her some panadol and sat with her in the rocking chair. I've tried walking around rocking her, tried distracting her with her favourite toy. Dad tried too and nothing works.

What on earth could be so bad that she screams like this? Should I take her to emergency?

How old is she? It could be a night terror.

Does she have a temperature? Maybe an ear infection? Sore tummy?

I just checked her temperature, 37.1 so its not that, but she has had panadol which might hide it if she did have a fever.

I think I'm just going to take her to emergency, she's been screaming for almost an hour and a half, she's coughing and choking she's so worked up. I hate seeing her like this

Take her outside for a minute to see if that stops her. I was told by a MCHN to do this with DD night terrors as it shocks their body into another state . If you take her out and she stops crying for a few minutes then at least you may be able to tell if she is just upset or if she keeps crying perhaps she is hurt. Have you checked all her limbs and joints for injury? Does she have a temperature? Just some ideas , not sure what else . Has she done this before ?

When DD did this it was an ear infection. She only calmed down after her ear drum perforated and released the pressure. It's horrible not knowing what is wrong isn't it?

I stripped her down earlier on and ran my hands over all her limbs and I couldn't feel any bumps and she never pulled back from me. I couldn't see any bruises or anything.

She's never screamed like this in her whole life, she's normally a mellow, happy child like her Dad. I didn't know such young children could have night terrors!

I'll try taking her outside first, if that doesn't help I'm taking her to the hospital, this is far from normal for her.
