Default It's going to rain on my wedding day!!!

So we are getting married next Tuesday at Maleny. In Qld it has been barren dry for months but, of course, the last week or so it has been pouring rain!!! And rain is predicted for next Tuesday!!

We are eloping so, thankfully, I don't have to worry too much about locations and receptions etc. We have indoor alternatives. Just that I had planned with my photographer for these gorgeous sun-drenched photos - we even rescheduled the ceremony to time it better with the sun!!! And my hair always looks horrible in rainy weather - it goes all flat and yuck!

Am running out today for umbrellas and gumboots as props to use.

Thankfully my dress is tea length so it won't get muddy on the ground. Tea length isn't really going to look great with gumboots though! Was planning heels but they might not work walking around on soft ground!

Has anyone else had a wet wedding? Do you have any tips or ideas to manage the rain? I'm not too fussed about the day - I get to marry my super DP and he keeps saying rain is good luck for weddings! I'm mainly concerned about photos - they really are the main things that will be affected by the rain.

My friend got some cute cherry printed gum boots as a contingency for her tea length gown, she modeled them with the dress and it was cute and quirky.

A good photographer will make use of what they can to get a good shot, sometimes the light when it rains can be lovely and everyting has that wet shine to it.

Just get some good product for your hair and relax, you will have a gorgeous day regardless and you will come out the other side married to your sweetheart.

All the best for a great day.

Hey, my wedding looked fine in the photos but the morning it poured down til about 2pm (we got married at 3:30pm) so although I don't know about rain the ground was soaked and heels were a bad choice.

My friend got married at melany and it POURED! Their hotel flooded the night before. Their photos look AMAZING with the grey clouds in the background. Good luck, you'll be okay

Ah try not to stress, your photographer will get some great shots - and I agree get some funky gumboots, could make the photos!

It was really over cast for our wedding and the photos have massive dark clouds in the background and look gorgeous. When we had the shots on the rocks off the beach it started pouring and dh had to bundle me up in my gown and carry me up the rocks back to the limo bahhaha - it was funny and made the day memoriable.

You will still have a wonderful day xxx

Funky gumboots, cooky umbrella, and a good sence of humor.

Im photographing a wedding today and its meant to rain this afternoon... off course, its an afternoon wedding!

Im sure your photographer has some ideas of what to do if its going to rain, even some indoor shots in a shopping center or something could be a bit quirky and fun.

I remember seeing this amazing shot online a while ago. The couple were standing in a train station, the photographer had gone up to the next level and had photographed them on a slower speed, everyone around them was a blur as they hurried to their trains, and they were frozen magically amongst everything else.

It rained for my wedding, but we had a little break in the weather just for when photos were. We have fantastic shots with a shiny wet backdrop. There was also no squinting photos because the sun was never in our eyes.

I saw in one of my sister's wedding magazines the other week a lady got married in the snow with Chanel gumboots on under her dress. A bit fancier then your average gumboots.

There are places that you can hire/buy heart shaped umbrellas from for weddings. They look great in photos, especially in black and whites with just the coloured brollie.

Maleny when its raining/cloudy/foggy would look A-Mazing.

Imagine the mountains behind you with clouds low on them? The pictures will be spectacular, it won't be cold too. It will be awesome!

Try and get gumboots to match your dress and add a little bow or something to the top that'd be cute!!

i got married a few months ago in Pomona, it did the same thing... the week before the wedding it absolutly poured down! We had an over cast day and then it rained that evening and for about a week afterwards lol.

Rain on your wedding day is suppose to be good luck.

although you've planned beautiful sun drenched photos, over cast sort of photos (especially with the surroundings of Maleny) can look incredible.

Your going to have a beautiful wedding album whether it rains, hails or shines
