    Hi Miss Madeleine,

I am in Sydney and we used our future obstetrician to obtain the medication we needed. She does offer fertility services at an established IVF clinic and but we saw her at her practice.

I have not been given intralipids as I do not have any issues with NK cells. I think it would be hard to find here as it is a new treatment, it maybe something you need to get sent from the US.

To all those cycling for overseas clinics, we have finally started meds for a Sept collection. We didn't proceed to donation in December as our donor went away on tour. (She is a professional singer) and we wanted to wait for her. She is a known donor and we have a contract which requires us to send her information on the child once per year. We found her through the site http://www.opts.com/cgi-bin/forum/Ya...board=general6 which enables you to email with and negotiate with lots of potential donors. Just be careful about getting photos an adequate info.

Our clinic is SIRM New Jersey (close to the donor) and we are seeing Dr Peters. He is fantastic, he spent a good two hours explaining things to us on Skype (for free), they have a forum which he monitors and responds too and I like and trust him better than Dr B from HRC in LA. We are only doing this once, that is all we can afford. If it doesn't work, then that is it for our journey. With two boys already it would be selfish to continue.

    Sincerely,

    JM

    Hi Miss Madeline
Dr Nick Lolgatis who is part of monash ivf does intralipids. He is known to offer a lot of treatments which are outside the box.

    Hi Ladies

Hope you don't mind me popping in on her...having read through your posts, I thought you may be interested in the South Africa thread for egg donors - there's hundreds of posts over 3 threads - its fantastic - a wealth of information.

I started off not knowing where to travel to, and started with Thailand too and had a lot of contact with "Pinky" from the donor agency Marvel Ivf Solutions - she was wonderful (they were recommended through a couple of friends that went there and are successfully pregnant). Your right though, most agencies don't have Caucasian donors - and the agency that did was Global Egg donors.... but very expensive. I was nearly ready to go there and had narrowed down donors etc... when I happened to find a price list from Cape Fertility Centre (CFC) in Cape Town.... when I worked out the prices again, CFC was about the same price as Thailand (CFC $6097 + agency fees of between $1300 - $2000 approx) Thailand was nearly $10,000 but that was with PGD as well (we wanted to select a healthy embryo). The reason I had dismissed South Africa originally was they are all anonymous donors (by law) and I really wanted a child to be able to contact our donor if they wanted to in the future. (Thailand is meant to be anonymous too, but I've heard how, if the donor is open to it, you can meet them).

I had heard that a couple of Melb Fertility Specialists had recommended Spain & South Africa were good places to go. I looked into Spain - but they choose the donor for you (anonymous too) - I didn't feel comfortable with that - so looked at SA and you can view baby/childhood photos up to about he age of 10 or so. This suited us and away we went. Long story short.... (pop over onto the South Africa egg donor threads and you'll find just about everything you need on there from many Australian ladies that have travelled there for treatment).... I took 3 days to read this thread and I was pretty much sold on the idea of going to SA.

The agencies I had a lot of dealings with were Nurture (bit more expensive), Gift ov Life (absolute angels - I didn't end up going through them as they didn't have a donor that suited us.... but I wanted to as they were just amazing in their support) Sunshine Donor Agency, and the ababysa agency. There are other agencies and they are very good too, but what I didn't like is that they didn't offer any refunds (minus a admin fee) should the donor not pass the initial screening tests) - nor did they offer a discount should you have to return and choose to use their agency again.... that made me uncomfortable, I felt their hearts weren't in the right place.

Then finally after much soul searching and many nights up late doing LOADS of research on clinics and what donors we liked (due to time difference) we settled on CFC and Dr Heylen (his response time has been 2nd to none) - then we chose a local donor to eliminate travelling costs for donors out of Cape Town (we had to draw the line somewhere!).

I've heard it costs about 15k Australian for flights, treatment, a nice wee holiday in a country that is very beautiful and the rand is very cheap. Could probably do it a little cheaper I think. There accommodation is cheap, food, wine, everything (have a read of the other forum).

My FS here in Melb has offered to organise the prescriptions needed at a low cost (though I haven't taken him up on this yet - seeing him Tuesday for testing for NK Cells) and my GP organised a lot of tests too. We are flying over early November and feel 110% happy with our choice to go to CFC (they have exceptional reviews). Only fear of course will be if it doesn't work. CFC seems very through in their pre-testing and I ordered additional tests too for peace of mind. They didn't cost very much at all.

The one thing I am hoping, is that one day the law will change and we will be able to make contact with our lovely kind hearted donor... or somehow mention this to the agency when we get there and see what the reaction is.

Hope that helps you all - if you are interested in SA for treatment you will truly find everything you need for on this thread: http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/f...South-Africa-3

Good luck to you all xx oo

    Hi Thanks Team Panda
I saw on one of the blogs he's been doing intralipids since 2010. I saw him before we went on our search for a donor (on his advice), and I have emailed his assistant to see if I can have the intralipid infusion done at his practice.
On further investigation I find it's not that unusual a treatment and my GP said the medication is available, she writes all my scripts.

Just wanted to let people in here know that my DH and I have had success in the Czech Republic with ED. I started a Czech Republic thread and am more than happy to answer any questions! The clinics are state of the art and a lot lot more affordable than the USA.

    Hello

I'm a single mum of a beautiful 8 month old baby boy, and am from Auckland NZ.

I was tested and had a very low AMH - originally I had planned to just do IUI with donor sperm in order to make my baby dream come true. The doctors here then suggested I try using donor eggs as well with IVF as it was likely I wouldn't have enough eggs let alone good quality. This was quite a blow and was also likely to be incredibly expensive. Also, it's very hard to find egg donors here in NZ unless you use a family member, as donors aren't paid and there is an obligation to be available to the child when they turn 18yo.
I would've been on a waiting list for years.

I decided to start thinking outside the square and had heard that a friend of a friend had gone to Prague with her husband to use an egg donor and had been successful. I did a lot of research and found tonnes of overseas clinics able to help - and for much cheaper than here in NZ (including the airfare!).

I settled on IVF Spain in Alicante as they were incredibly helpful and professional and I decided the donors there were most likely to match me in terms of looks etc.. After several Skype consults and lots of emails, I travelled there with my Mum in October 2014 (we spent 2 lovely weeks in gorgeous Spain). Two embryos were implanted and when I got home I discovered I was pregnant with my gorgeous boy! (Born July 2015). I'm currently making plans to head back over early next year for a sibling for my boy.

Was wondering if anyone else had similar experiences? :-)
