Just a GP at this stage, if you have someone you may know of that would be great!

Actually, my suggestion is probably not going to help you all that greatly, as my GP is in Caloundra!

We have had our issues once or twice in the past, but she has many times over since I was PG last year proven to me what an excellent Dr she is. She also shares my stance on avoiding over-medication & trying to use natural means wherever possible.

Her surgery 100% Bulk Bills also.

If you did happen to be interested, her name is Dr Adu & the surgery is Caloundra Bulk Billing Surgery on Bulcock St.

She sounds perfect as i too want a doc that respects my wishes on natural means etc and not using anti-biotics to cure everything. I also don't vaccinate and want a doc that will support that decision or at least accept my decision. Bummer that she is in Caloundra though.... although, sometimes it would take us just as long to get to Caloundra as it does to Maroochydore. Thanks for the suggestion.

Speaking of anti-biotics, this is actually something I feel strongly about - as does my Dr.

She will prescribe where necessary, but of the two occasions where I have gone to see her & she has given me a script for anti-biotics, once was as a "just in case" measure (DD had a bad case of conjunctivitis and she gave me a few alternative things to try before the anti-biotics, and it worked - I never had to fill the script) and once it was for a very severe case of mastitis, where if the anti-biotics hadn't worked pretty much immediately, I was going to be admitted to hopital.

In both cases, she always offered alternatives or additions to the anti-biotics. When I had mastitis, she gave me lots of info on how to avoid it using natural means (unfortunately they didn't work & I ended up getting it even worse the second time round!)

I have every confidence that she will only prescribe medication when needed.

That is excellent Mrs Miggins. It would be so nice to find a doctor that would go the natural route before having to take anti-biotics. I myself do not take well to antibiotics and they always make me sicker, so i usually only take them if they are really necessary. I was prescribed anti-biotics for mastitis too, but didn't fill the script as i tried natural methods first which worked thankfullly. Are you also seeing your doc for pregnancy care?? How do you find her for that? I want to see a doc i feel comfortable with so they can help with me losing some weight and also TTC # 2. And also someone that will be good with Josh too.

My Dr adores babies & children! She has a board up in her office with pics of all the babies who's mums she has seen through their PG's.

She has been brilliant with Claire, and on the rare occasions where I need to bring her to an antenatal appt., the receptionists are more than happy to look after Claire while I see the Dr. (One of the receptionists is also PG and due the day after me!!)

I have been seeing Dr Adu this time for my PG, but used the midwife clinic mainly last year, as it was more convenient (and TBH, I was having a PG hormone related cranky spat at my Dr!!)

She will also be happy to help you with weight loss. She has been carefully monitoring my weight this PG, as I put on 30kgs last PG!! (Much to her horror - a big part of the reason for my hormone-induced cranky spat!)
