Please recommend a good thermometer for babies?

I REALLY need to purchase an effective thermometer to take my DS's temperature. We have one of those annoying digital ones that you put in the armpit and it takes WAY to long to confirm a reading.

Can anyone recommend a good brand/model? I don't care if it's a little pricey, I just want something that will give me the reading quickly & easily.

We have a Braun ThermoScan one, that you pop in the ear and it's done in under 15 seconds. I've found it easy to use and reliable. Think it was about $100.

We've got the Braun Thermoscan too and it's great - very quick and consistent. We got it from pharmacydirect I think, but look around as they are often on sale.

I have just bought a good ol' mercury thermometer for bubs. We spent a few days in the childrens hospy with DS2 and it's what the nurses recomended as being the most accurate. Having said that it takes 3-4 minutes to get to where it needs so probably not what your looking for

We also have one of those ones you stick in the ear but it's pretty darn useless, cost $60 odd, takes forever and I never quite know how good the reading is.
