Default Anyone using Canberra fertility centre or SIVF Canberra

Hi there I have one DS from our first icsi cycle with cfc and have had a failed FET (of which we lost all our embryos in the thaw bar one which didnt take) another failed icsi and now 5 frozen embryos.
We are thinking of changing to SIVF Canberra as I have seen their success rates and they seem exceptionally professional.
I guess my question is what is your experience with these clinics?
I'm just feeling let down by cfc at the moment and need to feel positive before my next FET.
    Cheers

    Hi Lucasmumma

My husband and I are with SIVF. The clinic was recommended to me by two friends, one who was a long term IVF'er who moved from CFC. I can't compare the clinic to any others but I find it to be very professional. Blood tests and ultrasounds in the morning are all very organised, results come in (they call you) in the afternoon, EPU and embryo transfer are all very hassle free and highly professional. I've never had any frozen embryos so I can't provide you with any information there but their embryologists all seem pretty switched on.

Good like with your five frosties!

    Hi Lucasmumma

I'm fairly well qualified on this question. We got our DD from an ICSI cycle with SIVF back in 2005. After conceiving DS naturally in 2008, I went to CFC last year for various reasons to TTC #3. I found the experience with them quite disappointing and as a result switched to Simone Campbell and SIVF earlier this year. Comparing the two, my view is that SIVF is a better outfit all round. I think the standard of care is better - both in terms of their success, as well as the way patients are treated. My advice would be to go with Simone/SIVF all the way.

Thanks slinkymalinki I'm lying here awake tossing and turning about whether just to have one last FET with cfc and just see purely out of impatience of waiting for all the beginnings to happen again with a new clinic... I really feel that
My last 2 transfers have been soooo super rushed as in, in and out in less than fifteen mins including dressing and undressing. My first transfer done by someone else at cfc was a completely different experience and thus was successful, of course the embryo quality comes massively into play but I do believe who does te transfer can be a factor too. Thanks for your input much appreciated

    Hello Lucasmumma,

I have been extremely disappointed with CFC. I was meant to have my first IUI at their clinic a few months ago. IUI is meant to be a painless procedure and should seem similar to a pap smear. There should be little or no discomfort. All my excitement and optimism was washed down the drain when after struggling with my insides for about 20 mins(which felt like hours) they were still unable to insert the catheter and finally gave up. They never tried changing to a wired catheter or use ultrasound to help guide the catheter in.

Infertility is stressful enough and this incident just added to my disappointments. Not to mention the lost time, the wasted blood tests and the money they just refused to refund.

I have no experience with SIVF. I am currently seeing Dr. Sides at ISIS. I have been quite happy with her so far. I am currently undergoing my 1st ivf(egg pick up next week- very excited). TTC#1 with one and half years of unexplained infertility.

Hope things work out for you. Good Luck.

We have been seeing Dr Nicole Sides who has her own practice but also runs ISIS Fertility. We havent needed to go as far as IVF but she has been absolutely great!! If we run out of prescriptions for medications we ring them up and they write them out and we just come pick them up and when DW was upset and was "in the neighbourhood" she just rocked up at the clinic and Dr Sides saw her between patients and then bulk billed us instead of charging us!! SHe's been very supportive and helpful and the sonographer she has there is so nice and reassuring and comforting.
